People thing liston destory's fraizer because foreman did but the styles between foreman and liston are extremely different the reason patterson lost was weight difference and patterson's chin wasn't as close to fraizers fraizer after ali was much different to the fraizer before i got frazier by stoppage liston physically bullied patterson i don't see him doing the same to fraizer as he doesn't utilise any of the frames and stops foreman used liston just used his natural strength and size to beat fraizer you need more than that to heat fraizer
Agreed Liston fought nobodies and a lhw who couldn't take a punch to save his life fraizer ko's liston past 4 rounds since the fatass had no cardio and loves to give up
Sonny Liston is all wrong for Joe Frazier, Liston’s weakness was when he had to go looking for someone, when someone comes at him, he’s accurate, can set up punches, walk you onto big punches, he’d measure Frazier with that long left, get him weaving and would time that head movement, Frazier doesn’t have the physicality to push him back and have success that way, if they were a similar size, it’s a different story, but Liston’s physicality would neutralise Frazier’s strengths.
You think Foreman brutalized Frazier with uppercuts ... Frazier is higher than Liston on my ATG list but he ain't winning this fight, again AI couldn't create a worse H2H matchup as far as strengths vs. weaknesses than Frazier vs. any semblance of peak Liston ... now if Frazier had faced the late, burned out, fighting for a paycheck Liston, could be different although Yank Durham showing the good sense he had in guiding Frazier would have run from that matchup like a vampire from garlic, because he knew.
I’d pick Liston but I think Frazier makes it a harder night than some might think. He could slip the jab better than anyone and really do a demolition job on the inside. He also had an incredible workrate and no quit whatsoever.
