The mistake people have is thinking Toney would have to be able to hurt Foreman, he doesn’t need to outright splatter him just to make him think, he could also certainly stop him to the body or with accumulation. I believe if people are doing this match up the late cruiser - early HW version is what should be looked at for Toney, it’s the closest he was to his football weight which was about 200lbs. Foreman was only 217lbs in his prime… with jeans and boots on - the size difference is less then Holyfield - Bowe about 15lbs? Issues people take with that number (217lbs) is “he was dehydrated” what of it? That only means Toney will be fighting a dehydrated man if you insist on his “prime” or will it be the “brain dead” GF afterwards? Lastly if people are so wrapped up in the effects of PEDs it’s another thing you can give JT the advantage in, it seems to make or break the Holyfield match ups. In my opinion I’m behind you, Foreman would stop himself trying to get rid of Toney the same way he did against Ali - though it’d require a helluva effort to convince me Ali was a better boxer then JT.
Even you know that comparing Frazier’s style to Toney’s is absurd. John Ruiz is a closer appoximation of Foreman.
Style and power are two different things. Power is power. If Foreman can walk through Frazier's punches he'd laugh at Toney's 19% KO ratio fists attached to a 5'9 flabby frame. Still waiting for you to tell me what you studied in college.
I think George mauls him and stops him, likely due to accumulation of damage from body work. Good scrap while it lasts because Toney is too mean to quit so it will eventually be the refs call.
Both. And once you get around to answering that question, I'd love to know which stubby armed 5'9-5'10 guys Foreman had trouble with.
Big George Foreman! Whoa! Talk about going back to my youth. You just don't hear that name, these days. They don't make 'em like that anymore. Thanks for taking me back, friend. Appreciate it.
Jimmy Young wasn't 5'9-5'10. He was 6'2. For someone who studied biology, that's pretty ironic I had to point that out. When I mentioned Foreman walked through Frazier's punches, you complained because Frazier and Toney had different styles. Not only is Young taller than Toney, he also has a different style. You already knew this, but you'd rather cater to your ego than admit you've got nothing. That's intellectual dishonesty. For a doctor, you have an incredibly hard time following simple conversations. Since it's not a lack of education, it's obvious that you like wasting time to avoid being wrong and are rarely interested in having a fruitful discussion. I get it, you have an ego after accomplishing what few have and being wrong is a death sentence in your field. But it makes conversations incredibly boring and tedious when you're more concerned with simply being right and inflating your ego than arguing in good faith. I'm still waiting for you to tell me which 5'9 guys Foreman struggled with.
You typed all of that out and forgot to tell me why it doesn’t matter that Toney had the same reach as (and punched harder than) Jimmy Young.
It doesn't matter because I asked you to name a fighter whose 5'9-5'10. Frazier punched harder than Toney and Young combined, and his punches bounced off Foreman's head. You can't even be consistent with your own criteria. I'm starting to doubt you graduated from college.
How many 5’10 fighters beat Holyfield, Ruiz, Jirov, Oquendo, and (should’ve been in the rematch) Rahman?
