Which of these three greats did you root for the most?

I always preferred Morales. He was stubbornly proud more sportsmanlike than Barrera, and I liked his combative style more than Marquez's.

Barrera also just seems like an asshat.

    You?

I love the Barrera-Morales wars and that was right around the time I was at my most influenced by boxing - but Marquez-Pacquiao may be the emotional high point of my sporting life. Nothing can compare to scoring fights D, W, W for your favourite fighter and getting D, L, L and then, in the fourth and final fight between the pair, receiving that knockout in a fight that nobody thought he could win.

I was always a bigger fan of Morales as a fighter, but I must say, when I met Barrera back in 09, he was actually a nice guy and a gentleman.

    1. JMM
    2. Barrera
    3. Morales

    In that order.

I watched JMM when I was a kid and I loved this style of fighting everything was so correct beautiful style to watch.

I'll never forget watching JMM KO Pacquiao it's the must shocking KO I've ever witnessed in my era.

Why I have Morales at the bottom is because Barrera, Marquez, for me are more pleasing on the eye in regards to their technical ability

    In order Marquez, Morales, Barrera.

I think Marquez probably has one of the top ring IQs of any modern fighter. I also think he's one of the greatest little men ever.

    1 Barrera
    2 Morales
    3 Marquez
No particular reason but loved the first two more than JMM

    Barrera.
    Morales.
    JMM.
I liked all of 'em. But probably have a softer spot for the top two as they were having their wars when I was younger and most heavily into boxing.

    For me:
    JMM
    Erik Morales
    Marco Antonio Barrera.

I loved watching all of them back then even when they fought Pacquiao (who I did root for against them at the time). JMM, for all his complaints of feeling that he got robbed in close fights, is one of the most aesthetically pleasing fighter I've seen and I also love how he was more than willing to go to war when necessary while still maintaining his boxing brilliance. Morales is definitely the most fan friendly and exciting fighter out of the 3. His never say die attitude and getting drawn into unnecessary brawls made me enjoy watching his fights. Barrera is also beautiful to watch and I love seeing his versatility from aggressive brawler to smart technical boxer, although his dirty tactics can be a turn off from time to time. I did appreciate him putting Hamed in his place.

Like them all, but Morales is my favourite.
I really enjoyed watching Barrera beat Prince Naseem, and Marquez’s series vs Pacquiao, but I found Morales to be the most exiting and enjoyable of the 3 to watch. I don’t think he was the best fighter of the 3 though.

I loved them all but I’ve picked Morales.

Barrera was my favourite at the time of their careers but is now my least favourite. He was the first one to emerge and I followed him from around 1995 when it seemed like there was going to be a showdown at super bantamweight with Hamed before he ended up losing shockingly to Junior Jones.

Barrera’s fight earlier in 1996 with Kennedy McKinney is still one of my absolute favourites and one of the best fights of the 1990s in my opinion. His loss in the first fight against Morales is one of the best losing efforts ever and he was very unlucky not to get the nod in that one. I think he deserved the 2-1 series win that he ended up with. I was firmly in Barrera’s corner versus Morales but now I would root for Morales - he was a real blood and guts warrior and he just seems more likeable than Barrera.

Marquez was a fighter who grew on me as his career went on and he achieved an amazing amount and way more than I thought he ever would at one point. Such a nice style and went to war as well when he had to. You just have to respect him.

    1. Erik Morales
    2. Juan Manuel Marquez
    3. Marco Antonio Barrera

Only possible order for any true Morales fan. Barrera was nothing but an HBO creation, remember ).

Morales, certainly. A more salt of the Earth type than the other two, & I loved him for it. That win over Pacquiao is a real standout too.

    JMM
    MAB
    Erik Morales

I love the technical abilities of JMM
That lead left uppercut is a thing of beauty. He can brawl with the best when needed. Beautiful fighter to watch
MAB also technically very sound. Box or brawl never in a dull fight. The Morales trilogy is my favorite of all time.
Morales a real pleasure to watch and on a personal level seems like the coolest guy of the 3. Just not as technical IMO and I like technical.
I want to stress I'm a very big fan of all 3 at the end of the day. They are definitely on my ATF list

Barrera was already a star in Mexico and Los Angeles before he went to HBO.
