I think Rocky would stand a decent chance in this one simply because he is underrated to the max and has a difficult style for anyone. He beat a faded Gomez handily but got robbed blind. I'll go for Azumah by very narrow decision based on his class and guile.
Rocky was not a crude boxer.How do you come up with that? Nelson would have his hands full as Rocky had some fast hands and a decent chin.I think Laporte was the only one to ever stop Lockridge.
Rocky by an upset decision in a thrilling fight.It would come down to the final three rounds, and Rocky would do just enough to offset Azumah.
I gotta go with Nelson. Lockridge might have made it a good fight but Azumah was a true all time great
I guess this one could have happened - probably just a question of timing - but it would have been an excellent fight. I pick Azumah as he is fundamentally a greater fighter but it would go to the cards and might even be a split decision.
If this fight were at featherweight I´d pick Azumah by ko. Nelson gave Sanchez hell, destroyed Gomez easily and blasted Pat Cowdell in crushing fashion as well as beating teak tough future champ Villasana twice. Nobody could knock out Villasana. At feather Lockridge lost a controversial decision to Eusebio Pedroza in their 1st fight, was blasted by Juan Laporte and faded badly against Pedroza in their return. Showed guts to make it to the final bell. At Super-feather Nelson wasn´t as good, took controversial decisions vs Mario Martinez and Juan Laporte. Clearly lost in his draw against Fenech but made up for it with one of the his greatest performances in the return. Lockridge on the other hand flourished at this weight. Terrific wins over Roger Mayweather, Boza-Edwards and arguably over Gomez. Gave Chavez a good fight and made 3 defences in his second reign. Lockridge at Super-feather would give Nelson a much better fight and might have a chance over 12 but would fade over 15 where Azumah would take over to win on points. Would be a great fight.
