Blow looked low to me, and I maintain this opinion.

Usyk is venerable to the body though, he needs to be careful in that respect.

    Low blow.

It was then and will always be.

For added context, Dubois was throwing them low before and AFTER the low blow that Usyk went down from.

Dubois has also thrown a good number of low blows in other fights, not least being in his last fight. Low blows are a consistent feature to his armoury.

Usyk doesn’t throw low or do anything else illegal - he had/has every right to be expected to be treated in kind.

The low blow also spawned the absolute BS observation that Usyk wears his trunks his high.

Usyk is actually the Poster Boy for a where a fighters trunks SHOULD sit. You hit him below the belt then you have LEGITIMATELY hit him low. No wiggle room.

The irony (and indictment on his accusers) is their completely ignoring how ridiculously high both Fury and Dubois wear their trunks - pure projection to accuse Usyk of hitching his trunks too high.

Usyk was lucky it wasn't at Wembley, the native arena of the French-Englishman.
Howard Foster would have belly-flopped Usyk and waved it off.

It was a low blow. A low blow does not need to be directly on the nuts. Any area around that pubic zone is sensitive and prone to damage, hence off limits.

The controversy is all manufactured; it was a low-blow and was correctly called as such. It also added to the myth that Usyk is weak to the body, which is surely dispelled by the Fury fight; Fury hit him to the body plenty yet couldn't put a dent in Usyk, and it was Usyk who came on strong in the later rounds.

There is no controversy...........Doo-bee-yis is simply another past victim of Usyk.

I think it was a grey area. I've seen them given before (Khan vs. Judah) and Ward vs. Kovalev 2 was far more low than this but it was probably technically low although it clearly didn't hit him in the crotch area and the punch was traveling in an upwards direction when it hit as well.

Usyk definitely made the most of it and for me clearly looked badly winded from the body area. How hurt? I'm not sure, I think if he had made it up in 10 seconds and continued it would have been in serious danger.

If Dubois was the house fighter he would have had his hand raised there.

One thing people need to consider with Dubois is he's younger than most top heavyweights and has, in my opinion, shown a clear improvement in each of his last 5 or 6 fights.

People also need to realise that Dubois' shot would've quickly pulled Usyk's protector up into his balls. Anyone who's experienced this type of thing knows it hurts like a mofo.

I've said it before the whole Usyk is weak to the body is a myth that he's happy to let people believe. Fury knows Usyk has a good chin so did work on his "weak" body and got absolutely nowhere, Usyk was ahead before they even entered the ring.

It was low. Dubois was outclassed. If it had been above the naval it may have backed Usyk up but it wouldn't have put him down like it did.

Even if it did, he would have gotten up and still school Dubois.

No magic potion, unless Usyk's testicular fortitude rubbing off on Dubois's glove counts. I hope Dubois didn't try drinking (or licking) that though...

It was certainly a legitimate punch. I'm not sure how anyone could deny that, unless you're Hatman Strikes Back who uses the same still image before the punch actually landed to make the point that you feel compelled to make.

    Close.

Dubois invested in lowblows, hoping to hit Usyk with something that hurt and get away with it, winning by "knockdown"... He threw plenty of them, more than usual.

It's a bit of a scummy tactic, and a confession he knew he was thoroughly outmatched, but we've all seen plenty of them that don't get called correctly as illegal.
Fortunately the ref saw it coming and called it correctly - it was low.

I'm not surprised Usyk looked uncomfortable, low blows ****ing hurt.
