What was great about those? They were totally lopsided. The only thing that kept Tyson in the fight beyond round five was Eddie Cotton’s criminal refereeing against Lewis.

Vince Phillips and Ray Oliveira threw nearly 3000 punches when They fought in 2000. Both were past their prime. Vince moreso, but Oliveira was also 6 years removed from his title shot.

Not sure Morrison was past his prime in that, he may have had HIV by that point, but who knows? But if it hadn’t taken effect by that point, then it won’t have had an impact on his performance.

A dominant fight can still be a good one.

I mean, that’s not technically incorrect. I orgasmed watching Hopkins ruin Trinidad, & Barrera smash Hamed. But outside of that, I don’t know. Of course, you could enjoy a big fight like Lewis-Tyson in the moment, for its size & spectacle. Would you watch that fight today for thrills, though? I doubt it.

I think that it's still quality to this day, but if you don't- That's cool, too.

Some of those 90s brawls between old has-beens actually were pretty fun. I liked seeing Holmes drop Smith without even throwing a punch, heh.

When would you say Lewis’ prime was, if you think 2002 was, “way past it?”

"Way" past it is a stretch, yes, but that wasn't my intention. Even from the OP there are fights mentioned here that weren't exactly "way" past it- Morrison was only two years removed from his true prime year when against Ruddock, but that's fine. There's no need to argue over meaningless specifics.

Wasn’t an argument just a question.

Iran Barkley-Tommy Hearns 2, although I’m not exactly sure when Barkley’s prime began and ended. He declined fast from 93 on though.

I’ve always thought the rematch was better for sustained action.
