Yes I know this is basically pointless as the fight is a NC now but it was originally a MD win for Ryan with some suspicious scorecards. I was rewatching modern fights to score and this caught my eye Ryan Catches and stuns Haney with his left then dominates the rest of the first round 10-9 Ryan Haney for rounds 2-6 walks down Ryan with his signature Jab and made him miss, worked the body and countered 55-59 Haney Ryan gets his first Knockdown in round 7 which would’ve been a 10-8 but Ryan got a point deducted. 9-8 Ryan Haney in rounds 8-9 took control again but a little bit more competitive then 2-6 82-87 Haney Ryan gets his second and third knockdown in rounds 10-11 with big hearted Devin getting up every time. Ryan then wins round 12 Haney won rounds 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8-9 Ryan won rounds 1, 7 and 10,11,12 Fight wasn’t as entertaining as I last watched it 112-112 What do y’all think?
Ryan literally didn’t do anything for half of the fight. He literally did the turtle shell and was on the backfoot for 5 rounds straight. Haney was pretty much stunned for the rest of the fight too which makes it even more surprising
This fight reminded me of Broner vs Maidana. The loser could outbox the winner every round they weren’t kd on, but the winners knew they could KD down with any punch landed.
Here is the way I scored during our round by round thread. It ends up I agree with you. Round 1 - 10-9 Garcia Round 2 - 10-9 Haney Round 3 - 10-9 Haney Round 4 - 10-9 Haney Very close Round 5 - 10-9 Haney Round 6 - 10-9 Garcia Close Round 7 - 10-8 Garcia and Garcia deducted one point for hitting on the break. Round 8 - 10-9 Haney Round 9 - 10-9 Haney Close Round 10 - 10-8 Garcia Round 11 - 10-8 Garcia Round 12 - 10-9 Haney I have it a 112-112 Draw
If you're doing your utmost best to score every single remotely competitive round for Haney then maybe But for anyone who is unbiased with at least semi-functioning vision, Ryan whooped him
