I'm not convinced that Prime Foreman hit any harder than Lennox Lewis

He admitted it himself that at one point he was deliberately trying to kill his opponents, especially Ali. He later regretted it and made amends with Ali becoming close friends and letting all that anger out of his heart.

There is a notable difference in punching power and punching mechanics from angry pre Zaire Foreman, to Clancy trained Foreman, to 90's Foreman. Pre Zaire Foreman might've been the most powerful overall hitter of all time in terms of sheer force with both hands.

They are in the same echelons, though naturally Foreman could be more clubbing, whilst also having a much more knockout orientated style.

The quote is true, but laughably false if you get me.

LL had a faster right, George had a heavier.

Bump. Seems relevant to recent discussions, since the arguments on both sides are all here. Good thread, btw.

Where's the footage of Lewis denting his custom extra heavy bag and knocking Steward back trying to hold it

Lewis could set up a big shot, but any given punch from Foreman could have crazy power

George was more powerful but Lewis applied his power better. As Coke McGrog would say, "Precision beats power, timing beats speed".

I also don't buy the whole "Foreman was leagues above everyone" in terms of power.
But him and Lennox are certainly in the top tier.
