Who are people going for in this one? Even though Smith has fought at higher levels he looked shite against Eubank Jr and if he turns up like that again he will be there for the taking. Kelly is 6/1 to win by stoppage on skybet- very tempting
He was injured and crashed the weight that night. Pushed into corner and threatened with legal action if he didn’t take that date apparently. Eubank knows all this and that’s why he won’t fight him again as he barely stopped him on his feet at the worst he’ll ever be. Having said that been quite inactive and the injury might have taken a bit from him. Add to the fact he’s getting on and it could all be a perfect storm for Kelly to finally come to the fore. Smith had been defying age though, people think he was a lot older than he is and have been writing him off due to age for over 5 years, a time he’s had some absolutely brilliant performances in. If Smith is not damaged too much or aged too much in the time off he stops him 8 onwards. If not He is hurtable and that 6/1 seems decent value although I’d more likely see a gruelling points win either way.
If you are looking at this as a betting man there is value here in Kelly by a UD. Smith is a far better fighter than Kelly, but as a 36 year old who is inactive and getting injuries. You can see someone like Kelly as the younger man, getting the decision. Even if he does not deserve it, as there is more money left in Kelly than there is in Smith. The only concern would be that if Smith has had an amazing camp and has something left, that he will stop Kelly late rounds. You probably need to hedge this with Smith via KO and Kelly UD.
I agree if Smith still has enough left he will be too strong for Kelly. But just got a feeling he might get turned over here.

Hopefully Smith told the promoters at least a couple of days ago, to give them a chance at digging something up to keep Kelly on the card.
