Toney is bloated, slower, older, shorter, does not possess byrds slickness or speed now(does have a shorter reach) and has no power. This fight would result in more brain damage for Toney.

Less than 24 hours after i said you were being a hypocrite for saying Povetkin is a waste of time because he has no chance vs Wlad, you confirmed what i claimed as the reason for hypocrisy: whenever a mythical Wlad fight comes up, you bring up "Well, if Purrity, Brewster and Sanders....". Guess that doesn't apply for Povetkin! Thanks for making my point.:good

...well maybe one day you'll learn to point out what you perceive to be hypocrisy on the same day.:good

...if you would have presented an example like this poster did, I would have had to go with Ike, so what...???...I did not disqualify myself from ever making a statement on behalf of a past fighter in relation to a current one.

The contenders of the Holyfield/Lewis era aren't lesser fighters than the champions of today are they...???

That's absurd! Toney can't keep himself away from Klit's fire b.c. he doesn't have the mobility or the size... All he can do is duck all night long and expect to counter with his sleekness, shorter, sharp shooting game on the inside. That's simply not enough.

    Suge,

I would love to see Wlad fight Toney but to behonest there's no up side for Wlad at this point with Toney looking much less that sharp in his last few bouts, his obvious size diffrence, and his age...

As much as I like the fight I see Wlad getting murdered by the media and fans for even entertaining it.

All due respect I just don't see the benefit, Toney was a great fighter but his escapades at heavyweight (with the exception of a win over an old holyfield) are less than deserving of a title shot. If he can win some good fights maybe beat a couple guys in the top 15-20 then it might start to earn some legitamacy

Toney vs Haye would be interesting

Decent points, I would add though, that Toney has been fighting HW since '03 and the only one to beat him was current WBC Champ Sam Peter...24 rounds with Sam and he only went down once...WLAD went 12 rounds with Sam and was down three times. A case can be made for Toney.

He has dropped weight already, we had a little glimpse at the 2nd Rahman fight, and he's still slimming down. His recent interviews reveal that he is not in the same state physically or mentally as when he was packing on the pounds.

Peter was dropped 3 times by Jameel McCline. Wlad was not dropped by McCline. What is your point? The knockdowns do not win you a fight. Peter has already shown you can knock your opponent down 3 times and still lose 114-111 on all 3 scorecards.

I did not claim Peter won the fight, so you'll have to take your argument soemwhere else.

My point is that Toney can compete...he did a better job of staying on his feet against Peter than KLIT did. Peter is the only HW who has beat him. Really, you should have understood that point the first time. Nothing hard to grasp, and nothing controversial to argue about. It was a simple point.

As much as I'd want a victory for Lights Out, Wlad and Vitali are too big, to strong, too technical, and they can certainly handle punishment.
