Dude I’m an AJ fan & his words were yes But his body was leaning back against the ropes in complacency… Didn’t look like he wanted it to continue so the ref stopped it.
2004 lennox lewis quitting the sport rather than keeping his promise of rematching Vitali. The whole boxing world (Apart from scared lewis fans) wanted to see that rematch. And to just quit and retire like that…. Ugh. Bad look. ‘The Lion’
If Joshua had wanted to continue he would have let go the ropes. He was still holding on to them when the referee stopped the fight.
The referee had no choice but to stop it because Joshua was still holding the ropes. Ruiz broke Joshua's will to continue and seconds after the stoppage Joshua was walking around the ring with a big grin on his face, relieved that it was over.
Joshua got caught behind the ear and got concussed. Not so many boxers have survived 4 solid KDs and got up on their feet. I don't know if u're trying to be funny. Haha, it's funny! Meanwhile Whyte quit after being pushed by Fury, y'all called it an uppercut. I call it a quit job. Hahaha
Big Joshie's will go down as the worst of all time. Thankfully the internet will preserve this forever. The sheer contrast in size and roids just makes it so drastic. Then you add in what a massive underdog Ruiz was, the fact he was a short-notice replacement ... it's all just poetry. Sure there are plenty out there in less promoted fights from warrior boxers, there are a few slicks who outright quit against Golovkin. But in many cases the quitter warrior is being overpowered by the more dangerous puncher and someone their size or bigger. In the AJ fight, he had incredible physical advantages, no gruesome injuries, and still quit. If we compare AJ's quit to Dubious' two quits, AJ still wins. Dubious was facing a huge opponent in Joyce and the best fighter in the world in Usyk, who is still bigger than Ruiz too. So as bad as those quits were, they simply can't compare. Big Joshie!
Yeah right. Sorry my bad, forgot that Ruiz is a carpenter and not a boxer. Now that's a really awful quit job
Yes, he needs to see you are ok to continue. AJ still wanted to fight, but ref made the decision that he wasn't able to. Was buzzed & concussed.
Tor Hamer quitting against Glazkov and Ruiz Jr early in both fights after 1 tough round in each. Apperently Hamer understood he doesn't like getting hit to the head and boxing isn't his sport.
