Could Quarry at 6'0 195-200 pounds overcome the size difference? Bruno was even bigger than Lyle. Quarry came up short against Ali and Frazier and Bruno came up short against Lewis, Witherspoon and Tyson. I know people will reflexively say Quarry wins, but Bruno gave Lewis and Witherspoon all they could handle and hit hard enough to rock Tyson with a left hook. And Witherspoon, Tyson and Lewis were modern sized heavies.
Bruno cuts him up with the jab, Bruno, if he boxed how he did against McCall, should win, Bruno is a much better boxer than Lyle, Ron Lyle and Mac Foster both followed Quarry around predictably, not setting anything up trying to take him out, giving him opportunities to counter, Bruno has a great jab, and that’s what Quarry struggles against, guys who could sit back, pump out the jab and not have to take risks, he didn’t know how to set up attacks, take away the jab or get inside against it.
I like Quarry although he’s likely to get some lumps and cuts along the way because he couldn’t help but lead with his face LOL.
Frank Bruno by TKO. Quarry didn’t have the size or power or even the right style to force Bruno to a stoppage and Frank could box pretty good with the jab. Don’t think he’d be easy to counter. And Jerry was prone to cuts and knockdowns
