According to his page on Wikipedia: "His heavyweight fighters had a combined record of 34–2–1 in title fights."

I know of these fighters heavyweight title records with him as trainer:
    Evander Holyfield 1-0
    Oliver McCall 1-0
Lennox Lewis 13-1-1 (including his IBC title fight against Tommy Morrison)
    Wladimir Klitschko 13-1
Michael Moorer 1-0 (WBO Heavy Title)
    Leon Spinks 1-0

Thats 30-1-2 by my count. What fighters/title fights am I missing, and what loss are they not counting?

Had a scratch round and can't answer the question. Hopefully someone else will.

Leon Spinks? It's news to me if Manny Steward was in Leon's corner when he beat Ali.

Leon didn't wear Kronk yellow until much later.

Hilmer Kenty was his first champion in any division. Not Leon.

Cheers Spooky. I recommend posing this question in the Classic section. A lot of scholars in there that would be happy to help.

I think Manny had Spinks later, leading up to the Qawi fight but not sure about the Ali fight, which was about 8 years earlier?

It's pretty easy when you get star boxers to 'train', already basically finished products too in some cases.
What would he do with B fighters, let's say he trained Joyce? Hammer? Whyte?
What would he do with Charles Martin, Fat Pole, Dave Allen?
What would he do with Tom Little?

Anybody on this forum could train Klitschko and win a championship. For instance, I would tell him to fight long, use his boxing, throw one-twos and sometimes the hook. In the corner I would say, 'You're doing great champ, just be patient and the shot will come'. After a bad round or if he got hurt, I'd say, 'Just get back to your boxing, don't get too aggressive'.

:It would honestly be insane to even consider using that as a title defense. No one really regarded this title.

Or an Oliver McCall, for instance.

What if things don't go according to plan? Would you able to switch things up? Make changes, identify the weaknesses etc. ?

Except in the case of Lennox and Wladimir, they clearly weren't the finished products pre-Steward. Hence the move to Emanuel where he helped better fine-tune their styles. Incidentally, Emanuel himself has stated that this is effectively what he did and what he was hired to do - to fine-tune a solid foundation of talent and skills that was already in place.

    Maybe so, maybe not.

But Emanuel is the one who actually DID help guide him to a major championship.

You say that's but it's harder to trainer a fighter out of bad habits and it's not just training it's fight strategy and best way to fight someone and making a fighter play on there strengths he would of been great with any fighter

More or less exactly how I thought it would.
