This so much. This perfectly sums up one of the biggest problems with boxing being a business first and a sport second: the A-side money fighter always gets a chance to "right their wrong", but the B-side doesn't. Povetkin was winning rounds and imo should have been up on the cards when he got stopped, but he didn't get a rematch. Yet AJ got slapped around by Fat Andy, they rematched, now everyone accepts that AJ won the rivalry, yet in reality they're even at 1-1 and AJ is the fighter who got stopped, not Fat Andy Usyk dominated AJ in his own backyard in London, I had it 9-3, yet they had to run it back in an unnecessary rematch, stalling both their careers and the heavyweight division, because Hearn refuses to make a fight without a mandatory one-way rematch clause protecting his fighter. The only reason why we aren't still seeing ReMatchroom stiff B-side fighters is because of Turki
My entire time as a boxing fan fighters were derided for not attempting to avenge their losses. AJ gets criticism for having immediate rematches with the guys that beat him to immediately try avenging a loss. Interesting turn of culture.
You can bring back Eddie Futch and Ray Arcel to train AJ and he still will lose to Usyk. Usyk is levels above AJ and if they fight again it is likely AJ gets knocked spark out. Usyk didn't sit on his punches at all in either fight and had AJ hurt a few times in later rounds. He decided to hang back instead of press. If Usyk presses AJ's Robotic Glass Jaw is getting shattered. Wait and see.
Exactly. AJ got his ass soundly whooped by Usyk in his backyard on a deck heavily stacked in his favour in front of 65k + of his home fans despite the fact he was way bigger, heavier, longer and more powerful than and Usyk been very inactive going into the fight after only having fought twice in three years and one of those fights wasn't even a fight because his late notice sub opponent only came t shell up and survive. And Usyk was his mandatory challenger so even if he deserved a rematch which he categorically didn't there never should've been one AJ was gifted a chance to avenge his loss when he didn't deserve it and guess what he failed And he failed again despite the fact he didn't deserve a rematch He had his opportunity and he failed twice what is so difficult about that to understand? Usyk is the one who had the deck heavily stacked against him not AJ but his fanboys have been making excuses and refusing to give Usyk his credit ever since And let's not forget this either and remind yourselves he behaved like that to one of the nicest, most humble, respectful and classy fighters to ever grace the sport. Even if he did deserve a third shot at trying to beat Usyk he doesn't deserve it for that alone This content is protected Usyk was already past his prime going into the 1st fight and the decline since is crystal clear to see but of course that predictably gets ignored by the assortment of clowns and cretins
Are people, even AJ fans, refusing to give Usyk his credit? I could be wrong but I don’t think so for the vast majority. Seems to me everyone (except Hearn and Chisora) know that Usyk is far superior and the only way AJ wins is if he has improved a bit and Usyk has declined a lot. I hope that doesn’t happen. I would like Usyk to beat Fury again, preferably by KO, and hang the gloves up.
Oh yeah, I've seen loads of it on social media, both after the first fight and the rematch and not a single peep about Usyk's clear decline from any of them.
Ah, I see. I thought you meant on here. The only social media I look at is YouTube and as soon as I see any blinded fanboys on the videos or the comments I skip them so I don’t really see that side of it.
Of course he could but I think still the odds are in Usyks favour. He knows how to punish AJ's weaknesses while limit his strengths.
