Used to think AJ would beat prime Foreman. I now doubt that.

There are a fair few who have thought that.

I once read a poster who held the same opinion - his rationale being that Joshua was better than Zaire Ali.

Hype, fandom and appearances that flatter to deceive can combine to form altered states of perception.

Happens every time somebody has a big win and then a few fights later it appears even more ridiculous than it is already

Dubois is a 6'4 250 pound puncher who is a world champion. It's not impossible that he could beat Foreman. Unlikely? Maybe. But definitely possible

I’m pretty sure that’s fake news unless it was satirical? or in Sullivan’s era. Never thought I’d have boxing opinions I forgot about kept tabs on :sisi1 @mcvey maybe quote it? In time maybe I’ll be getting a lore thread.

It’s an interesting match up. Prime Foreman - would probably be the version that demolished Joe Frazier in two rounds.

Foreman 24 years old 6’3 217lbs 78 and half in reach. In that fight.

Dubois of last night 27 years old 6’5 248.6lbs and 78inch reach.

That’s 31 pounds Foreman is giving away. To a big puncher with a decent chin.

I would pick Foreman because quite simply I like his defense better for slugger. He picked punches off better and then landed his own thudding shots. But Dubois is no walk in the park right now, Foreman at 28 lost and was knocked down by 216 pound Jimmy Young. He was also knocked down multiple times by 220 pound Ron Lyle that came within a whisker of winning that fight. Lyle is more similar in style to Dubois than Young.

While I would still pick both versions of George to win I think early comeback George may be better style wise for this fight. More relaxed, less prone to gas, the cross arm defense plus additional 30 pounds of weight on him.

I might pick Dubois if it weren't for the fact that I think his chin is suspect. He'd have a lot of size on Foreman and probably hits harder. But I dunno how well he'd handle the incoming. DD doesn't exactly have a spectacular defence.

To be fair neither did Foreman, Foreman almost got chased out of the ring by Ron Lyle that’s the only sample we’ve got of Foreman fighting anyone with some decent size and a punch who “came right at him” yet despite being almost KO’d in the first, fresh as a daisy he is a juggernaut to fear? Based on what the Frazier fight? drives me crazy. DDD is at least better than Lyle lol.

Dubois was knocked down 3 times by an unremarkable Cruiserweight with only 14 stoppages and needed some hometown officiating. Dubois also quit after a jab from Usyk let's not get carried away here.

What does that have to do with anything I said? DDD is better than Lyle, Lyle did all I wrote it’s you getting carried away I never mentioned Dubois chin in my post at all, Usyk isn’t an unremarkable Cruiserweight he’s actually the undisputed HW champ. You Foreman fans give the Marciano guys a run for their money sometimes.
