Usyk was hit with a body shot from my legal standpoint... and I think he was allowed to recover

I think he would force himself up if the referee started counting.

I did consider it a low blow, though it was very close.

Probably not without really digging deep with sheer willpower. He wasn't faking that pain at all, regardless of whether it was technically a low blow or not.

If I were in Dubois' camp negotiating for a rematch, I would demand that the trunks not be worn over the belly button and a ref that isn't going to drop the ball.

Yes he would have. He completely dominated Dubois.

Same thing would happen again if they fought.

No, if that fight was in england with an english ref, Usyk would have been counted out imo. No slight on Usyk, hes a generational great but fighters dont recover from body shots like that in 10 seconds.

This is silly. Usyk would have got up inside the count and sonned DuBois pretty much like he did. Maybe faster because Dubois might have thought he had an advantage and hurried into a shot big enough to lay him down. Much like what just happened to Joshua.

Shot was low, can't see how that can even be debated given Dubois' tendency to hit low ever since, did it a lot vs Hrgovic and did it again vs Joshua.

But had he needed too he would have gotten up, had some rough moments but would have survived and beaten Dubois just like he did.

Dubois is a dirty fighter. Sooner or later he will meet his Golota.

Your legal standpoint? Well it's a good thing you're not ****ing lawyer or a referee. It was correctly ruled a low blow by the referee, because it was a clear as day low blow. A low blow is anything on or below the beltline, the line as indicated by the referee at the beginning of the fight. That shot was below what the referee deemed acceptable. And just in case you're unaware, a low blow is also a shot to the thigh, to the kneecap, to the calf, to the pubis region, to the hip bone, to the appendix, to the kidneys, to either ass cheek, or if the fighter drops to his knees and smashes his big toe with a hammer fist. There's a reason why boxers wear big baggy pants with high beltlines, instead of just a cup with their ass exposed, with a warning stating do not punch me in my dick or balls. Because punching in that general vicinity is considered verboten. Got it Perry Mason?

He's not an intentionally dirty fighter, in the mold of someone like Bernard Hopkins or Billy Goat Droopy Eyed Dre, he's just an overeager, dumb and very reckless fighter who gets carried away when having success.

Real men wear a thong like Corbett in the ring. Sorry that's how it is, I don't make the rules.
