The fact that some losers have to cling to a low blow in a fight that Usyk was dominating really just shows how great he is.

 

Then it would have been an awful call as Dubois landed on and slightly below the belt line and Usyk’s naval was just right at the top of the belt line.

Dubois deliberately punched low throughout the fight, before and even after landing his most damaging low shot that saw Usyk on the canvas.

Dubois is clearly not the cleanest of fighters - happy to use his head and punch below the belt line, as evidenced in several fights.

OP - please at least provide a photo of Usyk wearing his trunks unduly high - as you allege.

 

Definitely. And although Usyk said he would have gotten up if the referee had started to count—who knows? He might genuinely believe that, but I distinctly remember how he was shaking while sitting on the floor. At that moment, he seemed unable to even attempt to stand up.

Maybe he could have, but would he have been able to move away from Dubois attacking the same spot again? We will never know, but it looked unlikely at that point.

In the end, the right man won, and the referee made the correct call, so we can only speculate on what might have happened had the shot been ruled legal.

 

Dubois won like Wilder should have won if his costume wasn't too heavy, if Fury didn't gypsy curse him, Fury wore illegal gloves, he was poisoned, the count was long and his coach betrayed him. It's a BS conspiracy theory grounded in delusion.

 

I am on record saying that it is a low blow that might not have been called in a different fight, but...

A) It was called as it was called.

B) The contrarians say that Usyk got the call because of where the fight happened...so, even accepting that Ukranians and Poles are now the same thing, what about the idea that the call may have gone against Dubois because he is manifestly a dirty fighter?

C) The idea that it might not have been called in some parallel universe triggers an entirely separate issue of whether or not Usyk could have gotten up, which no one can say for sure.

There is simply no cause to have a thread like this.

It was a below the naval, bladder shot. Conclusively low blow. Then KO'd from a jab.

 

My 5 cents. Not a low blow so Dubois won. We have also seen no low blow called on much lower punches and then there is the whole defend yourself at all times thing.
