On Saturday night , this sounds a bit mental because obviously it would be a right sore one and he took it flush , but I don’t think it looked that heavy a punch compared to the first knock down!
It was a fuller contact and Joshua was moving toward him which increases the force of the impact. On top of that Joshua was physically and emotionally spent, having been clubbed around for five rounds and his stamina is less than good anyway. It was a high pace fight.
All the previous punches he took in the fight reduced his ability to take that final one. Beautifully placed by Dubois. It was a great punch. Got to give AJ credit for rocking Dubois with a great right hand moments before. Credit to Dubois for taking that well, recovering immediately, and remaining calm under pressure and delivering the coup de grace.
It was one of the shortest punches I've ever seen, truly world class and the definition of 'the noble art of self defence'. Anybody lunging forward onto that like Joshua was is going over. Dubois is a simple lad, very child like and endearing, but you get the impression that when he has his heart genuinely set on something you'd have to climb into a tank to stop him.
