This would be dangerous in the first couple of rounds for Golota, as Briggs was a very fast starter, and Golota has been stopped early on more than one occasion. I think I'd go with Golota in this one though. He was clearly the better boxer, and should be able to control things from range, especially after the first couple of rounds. Golota by UD or late stoppage. Would have been an interesting fight.
Briggs extremely early. He had more than enough power to make Golota lose focus and self destruct. Golota's pattern was to fall apart against anyone that could hurt him. My position is that Golota's skill set never comes into play because he gets ran over quickly. Golota at his base wasn't a fast starter, he was a boxer first and foremost. Briggs comes out sprinting and Golota comes out in a 800 meter jog, he's gonna fold.
3 or 4 powerful uppercuts on Briggs guts from the beginning by Golota and fight plus career finished for Briggs. Amen.
This could turn into a great fight, Golota more talented and Briggs probably more power, Golota could lead on the cards until his mental preparation fails, after which Briggs takes control of the fight...
Briggs' entire career reminds of Camacho's later career. He'd run off a string of wins over lower level, or shot fighters, earning him a big fight where he usually came up short (just my opinion in the case of Foreman). How many has he actually legitimately beaten that were better than prime Golota? Not really arguing against the people picking Briggs, as it is absolutely possible that Shannon just blitzes him early and gets him out. Hard to tell if Briggs was all that good or not. He usually didn't look all that great after his early KO attempt didn't work and the fight settled down a bit (see Briggs vs. Darroll Wilson). Wouldn't bet on this either way.
