There was nothing convincing about Marciano's first meeting with Lowry except he got beaten around the ring. Liston destroyed Marshall the second go-around, when Liston was closer to his prime.

You are either not an honest interlocutor or significantly intellectually compromised. Either way, your argumentation is tedious. Good day, sir.

Marciano won the first fight. Period. This dumb story had been debunked time and again. If I had a dime for every time I whole heartedly disagreed with a write up I’d be rich.

    How have you debunked it?
Have you come up with news reports that contradict those contemporary ones that state Lowry had Marciano in trouble ,and that many thought he deserved the verdict?
If you have, can you post them please? Please post your rebuttal to these reports?
Michael J. Thomas of the Providence Journal wrote, "Marciano did not win the fight. This reporter gave it to Lowry, six rounds to four.”

The crowd of 3,696 booed the decision and some wondered if Lowry had thrown the fight. "There were some questions as to whether Lowry, who had come close to knocking out Marciano in the second, third and fourth rounds, deliberately bogged down in his attack after the fourth stanza," Thomas wrote. "Lowry stopped using his uppercut after the fourth. He went into a shell and only occasionally landed power shots. He seemed to be carrying Marciano."

In his book Rocky Marciano: The Rock of His Times, Russell Sullivan wrote the following:

"It was Lowry, not Marciano, who was on the verge of scoring an early knockout, stinging Marciano with two terrific rights in the first round and then rocking him with two mighty uppercuts in the second. By the fourth, a staggered Marciano seemed just one punch away from being knocked out. But then, inexplicably, Lowry stopped fighting and retreated into a shell despite warnings from the referee to open up and a cascade of boos from the crowd. To many, it appeared that Lowry was deliberately carrying Marciano. Was foul play afoot? Was Lowry getting paid to lose? Or was he merely tiring? Whatever the reason, a revived Marciano managed to rally in the late rounds even though many of his punches missed their mark or lacked force. On the basis of his aggressiveness and constant punching, Marciano won a unanimous decision from the judges. Most observers felt, however, that Lowry should have won."
Lowry, who earned $2,500 for the fight, denied he threw the fight. "I beat Rocky that night and that’s it," he said. "He changed his strategy in the fifth round and made a fight of it, but I won two of the last six rounds after winning the first four. It was a hometown decision."

The Providence Journal, Michael J Thomas
"Marciano, in the first place, did not win the fight, as this observer saw it. This reporter gave it to Lowry, six rounds to four, but this wasn't the dilemma - hardly.
There was some question as to whether Lowery, who came close to knocking out Marciano in the second, third and fourth rounds, deliberately had bogged down in his attack after the fourth stanza. Many in the crown of 3696 felt he had.
As it was, the referee, Ben Maculan, warned Lowry three times to open up. In the fifth, he bellowed, 'Open up, or I'll toss you out' and twice similarly threatened him in the seventh."

Marciano did not have 30 pounds more on Lowry unlike Liston and Marciano won close decision while Liston was beaten to the punch and had broken jaw by old washed journeyman who lost half of his fights.

I am honest and the truth is that Liston lost against that bum Marshall, that beat him to the punch breaking his jaw even being 30 pounds lighter than him while Marciano beat Lowry by decision and did not lose at all unlike Liston.

This has been Debunked by individuals who were actually at the fight. Believe it was DJ sanders or his brother or something. Either way Marciano won, you have no argument because it isn’t on film. Close fights don’t count for anything and press don’t have a better view than judges and the ref. Your whole premise is a poor attempt at taking a shot at Marciano but it just doesn’t work.

The local Rhode Island reporter was ringside.
No,I haven't seen the film, so I am going by ringside boxing reporters opinion. You haven't seen the film so you are going by," DJ Sanders,or his brother or something".
Who is DJ Sanders and why should we believe him over the ringside press?
Your whole post is a typical," form the wagons in a circle," someone has posted something that is not positive about Marciano.
    You debunked nothing!

Why should I not go by the judges with the best damn seats who are trained professionals? How about the ref? You want to believe whatever you want to believe. I find the judges get it right far more often than fans or press. Not today they aren’t wrong occasionally but if I can’t watch it I’ll take their word.

Marciano fought a filthy fight against Cockell but was not warned once.Good refereeing?
BTW The referee in the Lowry fight was local third man Ben Maculan,he never refereed a fight above regional status and never officiated outside Rhode Island.
I'm pretty sure if the decision had been reversed you would be the most vociferous in arguing Marciano was robbed! lol
