Which versions of Young Foreman could beat the Holyfield he later fought?

Yup, he'll absolutely be in exchanges he shouldn't be in, but yeah he'll survive and out-last Foreman easy as that. In order to out-last Foreman, he has to.... you know out-last Foreman.

Those exchanges are absolutely going to take their toll down the line. It's not as simple as "all he has to do is hang on and he wins lol"

I'd have to think. Not to many. I'd just about favor Liston. Lewis has an excellent chance.
I disagree. If I was looking for a guy to beat Foreman, I wouldn't exactly scout a guy who can't resist a slugfest with bigger punchers than him, and tries to fight his way out of trouble when hurt.
    Yes..... 17 years after Foreman-Ali.
Not sure why you would bring this up on behalf of Holyfield. Holyfield was tagged by a significantly slower, and less powerful Foreman who couldn't throw combos anymore. If he was hurt by an old Foreman, he's going to be hurt by a young Foreman who was an infinitely better finisher. And we know what Holyfield does when he's hurt.
Well no because as much as it pains me to say, Holyfield won't be able to go the distance. Foreman could very well be up on points though, especially if he has multiple KDs.

Holyfield lost on points to Bowe, who's defense, and power, were inferior to Foreman.

Whenever this idea comes up I wince because I love them both. I have a bad feeling Holy would go into Warrior mode and, unlike getting nearly knocked out on his feet twice by old George, the younger Foreman ices him for good in 6.

And this is despite the fact I consider Holy a greater ATG than George.

    Maybe Frazier's or Norton's.

Prime Foreman destroys Holyfield, he cuts off the ring , uses his jab to control Evander and bludgeons him out inside 4. Holyfield can't move effectively enough to survive George

Holyfield has all the tools to destroy a young Foreman. He's a better boxer, a better mover, a better combination puncher and has the better headbutt. However, as we all know, there's a 50-50 chance that he throws all those advantages away to slug with Foreman and at that point its anybody's guess as to who wins.

Holyfield MD, has moments like Jimmy Young did, but will get badly hurt/knocked down mid-rounds, would probably go on to survive a decision in the later rounds.

This is pretty much everybody’s carbon copy description of any Foreman fignt, cuts off da ring… uses his jab to control xyz and bludgeons him… expect that happened once? against Ken Norton. 70s Foreman’s jab didn’t win him any of his big fights, expect KN am I wrong about that or are we going to bring up former LHW Peralta? Lol. It abandoned him against Young, just like his footwork, it didn’t control Lyle and it disappeared against Ali lol he cut the ring successfully against??? An aspect of getting someone to the ropes should also be accompanied by good inside fighting skills of which he did not possess.

Foreman anywhere from Frazier up to and including Ali would simply be too much. Foreman's ability to cut the ring off will force him into trading (Holyfield trading, surprise!!!!) and the fat lady kicks off.

While Chuvalo wasn't a very great fighter (he was a good one), 70's Foreman did use his jab to completely dominate that fight.

Most people don't realize that Foreman cutting off the ring with so much forward momentum could work against him against guys with decent footwork. Young just let him run at him while trying to spear him with a jab to follow up with a cross, Jimmy would duck the jab and Foreman's momentum would have him crash into Jimmy with the cross whiffing above Young. He just couldn't back up and leave Young grasping at nothing, in the kill zone and blast him out, despite Young predictably pulling the same maneuver again and again.
I don't know how Holyfield would fair but if he was quick on his feet, George is in deep ****.

I wish that fight went longer, the whole 10-12? The injury was Foreman’s doing, stoppage is deserved but we could’ve learnt some stuff watching it on paper he’d be a good test if it lasted. Good shout.

    No.
    Again Mo.

    Did I say No ?

    Well No.

If Holyfield tries to go toe to toe with Foreman, he gets KO'd.

    Maybe Lewis, Maybe not.

    Nobody else.

I was around forty two years ago.

    So was Jack Dempsey.

If we had actually fought then, I could have beaten Jack to death in under five rounds.

So yes, Yes, Foreman and Holy actually did fight.

But that was when Foreman owned a rocking chair, a pair of goofy slippers and had nearly a hundred grand children.

You think Holy lasts six against young Foreman ?
