Sporboxtvofficial Instagram account that has over 76K followers are reporting this. It is also being talked about on twitter.

Inoue will fight his mandatory Sam Goodman and Canelo v TBA at the Tokyo Dome is what they are reporting.

I love me a Japanese Christmas Eve/NYE show. Even RIZIN.

    This would be epic.

Very interesting to see Canelo choose this route, then again making the Tokyo dome is a massive accomplishment. The fact that Inoue even fought there is historic

Inoue is my favourite boxer to watch
I love his style and how he puts punches together

He's my p4p, though many will have usyk over him because he's more popular and the first undisputed hw since Lewis, which is fair enough

But Inoue imo is better and certainly more exciting

I will forever hate Canelo for his transgressions against GGG, but this is very cool for him. Would he or Inoue be the headliner? You can call it co-main but it never is. Whoever fights last on the broadcast is the headliner.

So it’s not happening after all. Not to worry, Alvarez would probably have chosen a Japanese bantamweight, with a non- rehydration clause, or some other deck stacking antic.
