Wonder if him and Nursultanov will have a mega fight for a bunch of belts in Kazakhstan in a couple of years...

What a bummer that Alimkhanuly had to pull out due to dehydration. Was looking forward to see him in the ring again. The good thing is that there's more good fighters for him to face in 168. The only question would be if he'll make 168 comfortably and be just as devastating at 160.

He’d get ducked at 168 even more than he has been at 160.

I don't think he's anywhere near the level of GGG.

What's his ring name? Jan? Golovkin had Triple G.

Alimkhanuly will now pass the Middleweight Kazakh baton to Nursultanov.

Didn't look too bad against Andrei Mikhailovich. Starting to remind me somewhat of Tommy Hearns at times. Would like to see him take on Lara or Adames next for their belts.

Thought his stock took a little dip tonight but it would be foolish not to give him benefit of the doubt.

    Should have been KO2

KO2.. Either do or don’t, and he didn’t.

Early parts of the fight it looked as though Janibek was carrying Mikhailovich. But as the fight wore on, and with great advice from his corner, Mikhailovich was able to turn it into a brawl. If Mikhailovich carried power it would’ve been lights out for Janibek. But in the end, class prevailed.

He needs a way to attract Turki Alalshikh's attetion. That's the only hope for him to get the likes of Lara, Charlo and CEJ in the ring with him.

Lara would get a career ending beating.

Put his punches together nicely. Fairly routine victory where even the close rounds were his. But it was surprisingly easy for Mikhailovich to get inside on him and even things up a little. Future opponents may take note.

Too early for comparisons with GGG.

GGG would have gotten it done with a minimum of fuss against the Kiwi in round 2.

    :deal:

Alimkhanuly's left (uppercut and straight) might be a better single KO weapon than anything Golovkin had, but GGG was a millionfold the better finisher...and could actually infight rather than just stall when range was taken away. Leagues above Alimkhanuly as an overall well-rounded fighter.

Lefty vs lefty, I'll favor the lefty with the active lead hand and a better jab, especially being the veteran Lara is.

Janibek is infected with the low lead hand virus, so is the entire modern national Khazak team, hence why they take no gold medals in Paris 2024, if it's not the veteran lefty in Lara, whenever Janibek faces a guy that matches him physically, and who comes with the intention to harm him, not just stay still in his midrange in front of him, he's going to struggle. Alot.
