    I wouldn't count out Canelo.

I can picture Canelo getting the better of some of the early exchanges and he has a great chin. It would be a war, but a war that Canelo would lose. Beterbiev is too big, strong and skilled.

In retrospect maybe this was the fight he should have made at LHW.

He could probably count on AB to be more one dimensional from a strategy perspective, so if he has something that works against a guy trying to walk him down then he can win. Also, Beterbiev's tendency to cut represents a saving throw for Canelo.

Bivol just refused to play any kind of games, to ever press his advantage too far, basically just looked at how Kovalev lost and said "I'm going anywhere near that positon."

    Anything is possible,
But if he doesn’t want to step into the ring with Benevidez why would he sprout nuts to jump in with Beterbiev? :headbash

I think Beterbiev would be the first man to stop Canelo in later rounds.

Beterbiev, even at this age, would still be dangerous for Canelo. Bivol's quicker footwork and combinations was what gave Beterbiev trouble. Canelo doesn't have anything to cause Beterbiev much trouble other than youth. Beterbiev is a much smarter fighter than Munguia and Berlanga.

Beterbiev would have no fear of whats coming back from the smaller Canelo like he did Bivol.. hed walk through him

After the last couple of years I'd be shocked if Canelo got into the ring with Beterbiev,,,and even more stunned if he won. Canelo doesn't have the movement that enabled Bivol to go the distance .I just see Canelo being in front of Beterbiev waaay to often to survive., he'd probably land some classy counter punches before Artur ends it with a 5th round KO.

IMO Beterbiev is too big and too good.

I do think Canelo is an overall better fighter, for what it’s worth.. but with the size advantage and Beterbiev being as great as he is, I think it’s too big a task.

Because it would give him something he didn't have before.

He doesn't have much youth left

We’ll see the difference in size is redonculous though- it’s why Beterbiev was able to win vs Bivol & Canelo got taken to school - not enough power to make the difference & truly gain respect against the elite in the light heavyweight division imo.

I’ll watch if he does take the challenge though.

Hmm, I can see this fight actually being tempting for Canelo to make. It’s a dangerous fight, but also a very simple one.

Beterbiev is an aggressive power puncher, stylistically it’s nothing new for Canelo. And typical of aggressive punchers, Beterbiev takes time to get his momentum going…which may help a stamina lacking Canelo.

Canelo would basically have to bet on his iron chin and above average defense to carry him to a possible decision win (mainly winning the early rounds). It’s possible

canelo beats the beterbiev that fought saturday. i think he will try to make the fight if biev dont want the rematch. which is a possibility. there is no way his team can feel confident in beating bivol after studying the tape. and if they lose, the multi million dollar canelo pay out is gone. they may choose the secure financial future. canelo vs beterbiev on saturday may 3, my birthdate. book it.
