Don't write Tszyu off completely yet.

I had 2 beers at the pub for $18 and watched the fight on a big screen. I have no idea why people spunk big dollars for PPV. You can always find somewhere nearby that shows the big events.

Honestly what ref calls in a doctor after some knockdowns? If you (the ref) don't think he can go on stop the fights that's your job. I'm actually shocked the ref just didn't give Tszyu a 5 min break for a phantom foul

    Protection By Corruption indeed

You could hear the crack and immediately tell Murtazaliev packs a lot of power as soon as he landed his first right hand. Tszyu thought he was going to overpower him but he kept getting caught clean with flush heavy shots and he opted to keep trading even after getting dropped which wasn't the smartest tactic.

Murtazaliev obviously has a lot of power in that right hand but he also dropped Tszyu with two lovely left hook counters too. Devastating and very impressive performance by Murtazaliev. Tszyu showed a lot of heart to keep getting back up and trying to win but fighting fire with fire was the wrong thing to do. He should've tried to play it safe and ride out the storm.

Jermello didn't want no smoke with Murtazaliev. Now we know why

At least he went out like a warrior didn’t duck any smoke or cherry pick. Could have just sat back in Sydney making buckets of cash in domestic fights like Mundine used to.

Weird comparison. Kosta would beat Phillips 10 times straight if they fought again. It was a Tokyo moment for Phillips who was bang average. Murtazaliev is just better then Tim.

Yeah. I'm a nose guy myself. Something to hold on to in ....ahem....certain "situations".

Some will disagree but I still think Tim could and should have won that fight. He just went out there with a bone head approach and tried to walk over a Chechan. Bad idea

Oh joy, now we’ll probably be forced to watch Tim fight that clown Michael Zerafa.

I can’t really see Tim rebuilding to world level from here.

He's made good money and probably could live comfortably if he got out now. I don't think he'll go that route though. He'll want to rebuild and have another go. Zerafa might be a good place to start cashing in on an easy domestic payday. Then go from there. Still think he'd wash Fundora in a rematch.

Like Joshua, he needs a long rest. And maybe some boxing lessons on moving his head a bit during fights.

That was pretty bad though mate. Yeah, you could say he fought dumb, and that is quite right.

But if you are sucked into fighting dumb in such a career defining fight then it’s on you. I can’t make any excuses for Tszyu and my posting in here is evidence that I love the guy.

But that was inexcusable and he’s now put himself right at the back of the queue. A potential domestic fight with hack Michael Zerafa aside, I just can’t see his pathway back.

At best it is going to be a very long road and that is predicated on his chin not having been cracked (and I have my doubts after that) and him learning every lesson he can from that performance.
