Can someone explain me what was Tim's team reasoning for the choosing of dis opponent after the Fundora loss? A cherry-pick gone wrong? Overconfidence? It doesn't seem to me the average fan knew who Murtaliev was but this dude to me looked like such a risky opponent for Tim after coming up his loss from Fundora.

Tim wants to be a great fighter and fight the best available opponents. Commend the man.

It's just too bad Charlo didn't have the balls to get in the ring with him.

He did what? He ducked the fight and held the division up for years and you still fanboy over him. He cashed out against Clenelo. There was zero to lose and everything to gain in a fight like that. Amazing that your IQ isn't high enough to be able to comprehend this.

Charlo ducked Tszyu. Both of the brothers are total disgraces who have damaged the sport of boxing with their antics and inactivity. Say what you may about Tszyu but he fought often and ducked no one.

Not if he stays at 154, it´s a historically weak division.

Most certainly overconfidence. They completely wrote off the Fundora fight as a fluke due to the cut.

I think the main reason to take the fight is that, despite coming off a loss, he was getting a chance to fight for a world title.

He certainly had Fundoras number before the cut. But yeah they had the wrong approach and were clearly overconfident here. Had Fundora been in there it's very likely Tszyu would have been crowned champion again. But alas, Murtazaliev is not Fundora. Boxing is a cruel unforgiving game. Tszyu has a lot of work to do if he's still serious about competing at the highest level of boxing again.

I might be wrong, but i dont think Mell Charlo is coming back. He won his lotto and also got the undisputed title. I think he will quit while he is ahead. Why come back to 154lbs only to have to battle it out with all of them and possibly get exposed. I think he was lucky to get undisputed, because the other champs were weak. Well, not Castano, that was a legit tough guy.

He and his brother are almost certainly running low on funds. I think we'll see both of those clowns back at some point.
