We all know Charlo ducked Tszyu and Murtazaliev, but take the politics out of it, maybe Charlo would've won by KO. Charlo is still around and is rumored to fight Ramos Jr early next year. I think he's still a top 5 jmw and some exciting fights can be made. Tszyu should take a tune up against Zerafa and then target the winner of Fundora Spence because they're PBC
Tim would have beaten Charlo, Tims a top 154er, he was horrible last night but I think he can rebound, it’s just unfortunate he didn’t keep winning because he would have took on the best back to back to back, would have dodged no one, now it’s a long way back.
Zerafa can punch so Tszyu will have to have a solid break before taking that fight or Zerafa could cause a boil over and then it’s a mountain to climb back to the top.
Jermell would have beaten Tim imo. Too well-rounded, too heavy-handed, and too adept on the counter for Tim I think. Would have been a great fight a year ago though.
No. his style would've had him in severe peril. I've said multiple times that he was being vastly overrated by his fanbase. They were matching him up against ATG's...............be forreal. Abundance of heart, all man, but overrated.
It's hard to say. That's why you fight and Charlo stopped fighting after he got Canelo money. Murtazaliev is very different from Charlo and he is a fairly aggressive fighter. Charlo, not so much. If Charlo wants to come back, he can still fight Tszyu as a warm up if he think Tszyu is not nearly as good as he is.
You can say take the politics out of it, but then you taking reality from the assessment. The only reason Charlo didn't fight Tim was because of the "business" aspect of the sport.... Not because of fear or him "ducking" Tim. That's just the emotions of a fanbase pushing that. There were a few different options being talked about during the time Tim was trying to get the Charlo fight. The Canelo opportunity obviously just trumped all of it. Then you had the personal issues of the Charlo family that began effecting both of them outside of the ring. To answer the question......easy answer "NO"...... Tim was highly overrated due to his biggest attribute. His heart. Tim has way too many holes in his defense for Charlo not to connect with him early and often. That's troublesome with a guy like Charlo who has heart himself. As much as I can't stand his character/persona outside the ring, one thing I can't knock is Charlo's persistence in the ring vs anyone not named Canelo......lol. Tim is no Canelo. Not even close. Tim is not even his dad. Tim is his own man and has to develop into something great rather than trying to promote himself as if he's already there.
A loss is no biggie if you can avoid damage and put mental demons behind, but Tim's last two were a very bloody affair and a concussive, multi-KD, hospitalized knockout. Brave or not, these fights take years off one's career, health too.
Charlo would've beaten the **** outta him. Slow come forward guy with a leaky defense. He's made to order for Charlo.
Charlo is a good fit for that “inconsistent fighters” thread… With that said, I back an on point Charlo to stop Tim every time…. Good counter puncher, heavy and fast handed… Honestly seems like poison for Tim… It would probably be a big tear up for a few rounds, (with Tim landing heavy but glancing blows while Charlo catches him in between) til Tim gets cracked one too many good ones..
Charlo had 2 chances to fight Tszyu and he pulled out of both fights, so I'm not going to give him any credit just because Tszyu lost. I'm more disappointed in Charlo than I am in Tszyu, because Tszyu actually took on opponents that Charlo avoided, including Bakram. It's been over a year since the Canelo fight and Charlo is nowhere to be seen. The fire is gone and if he comes back tomorrow, I'm not even sure he can beat this version of Tszyu.
I’ve been lucky enough to been in the same gym as Tszyu for his last couple of fights and he always seem to be laser focused in camp, this camp was different. Idk if it was because I didn’t pay attention this time but it didn’t seem like the same focus was applied in this camp. Tszyu is nice guy so I hope he can rebound and come back because I didn’t feel we got the same guy as we’re used to see in this last fight. When he was in camp for Charlo he looked way different in camp and it no doubt in my mind that Tszyu would have beat Charlo if they fought when they was supposed to fight.
