On the scene that disucssed boxing, it quotes a Polish reporter saying that Don King is trying to match Golota in China with either Jameel McCline or Shannon Briggs, with the winner fighting for a title.

Either matchup would be great to see, with Briggs / Golota being especially appealing.

    :good :good :good

Golota Briggs would be a killer fight. That would be one of the better heavyweight matchups in quite some time.

I could see Briggs trying to blitz Golota early and if Golota can survive the first 2 or 3 rounds, Golota would exert control and Briggs left to trying to land one big counter.

Most would tend to agree with this. But in Golota's case, I don't think its necessarily true. He prob feels he could step into the ring tomorrow & beat a McCline or Briggs. Whats so great about those guys? They don't posess 1/2 the talent AG has, even at 40 yrs old.

But your right in saying that an interim "stay busy" fight would have been nice to see. Get even a little more of his old timing back.

Time will tell & I don't think its working against Golota. He's in great shape for his age. And plus, he's mentally stronger than ever!

    :bbb

    ((((((((((((GO GOLOTA))))))))))))

Apparently this will take place (IF it takes place) in November. Nearly a year after the Mollo fight. :blood

Nice to see at least SOMETHING on the horizon.

Sha-nay-nay Briggs and Hamburglar McCline seem fairly similar to me in style. Briggs is a bit more explosive early on, but both are big guys who tend to fade after just a few rounds. Both can hit pretty hard McCline probably pocesses a little more power later on in the fight than Briggs, who seems to blow his wad in the first couple of rounds, then paws the rest of the fight. Golota appears to still have solid chin. Mollo, who is a puncher, couldnt hurt him for 12 rounds. But I think both McCline and Briggs punch harder than Mollo. A 40 year old Golota gets hit a lot, but then neither of these guys throw lots of punches.

Who would you rather see Golota face? Sha-nay-nay or Hamburglar McMac?

Considering McCline has had nothing but nice things to say about The G man and Briggs is such an awful boxer who will no doubt be a "Tad" overweight come fight time and the fact that Briggs is a very recognizable name.....

I say smash Briggs` pineapple dreads into oblivion!!!

    GO GOLOTA!!!

Do I understand correctly the plan is
    1) wait till August 30 if Ruiz or Valuev get injured
    2) wait for Vitaly to get injured and fight Peter
    3) if nothing happen fight in Poland with TBA
    3) if nothing happen fight in China in November with Briggs or McCline?

It's going to be someone big from WBC rankings and it's going to be final eliminator. McCline and Briggs is under consideration.

Golota will step in if someone will be injured, but it's only get-ready-to-step-in plan from DKP.

Anyway fight in Poland might not happen and they will go straight to China as I told you few days ago. Golota used to fight in China, so nothing new to Golota and Chineses.

    It will be big card.

There might be next year big card in Dubai futering WBA&WBC champs.

Everything is changing each week, so one week I can give you informationa that next week will be not valid anymore.
