I agree, the saudis definetely have a long term vision and seem to be getting into everything fron football to golf to wrestling etc. But that doesnt mean it couldnt end soon or abruptly,it s volatile country. If for example the king would be dethroned the new regime isnt necessarily going to continue this path. I’m just saying anything could happen. And DAZN could be collateral either way. And rixh guys def bagn trans girls.
I think you're assuming a lot of things without much evidence or are just arguing for the sake of it. The Saudi and Middle-Eastern vision isn't coming to a halt anytime soon. Not sure what a rixh guy is but men need to be homosexually inclined to "bang" another man. Sorry if that upsets you.
I wasnt discussing homosexual activity but sex with some luciius perfect trans goddesses. And rich guys definetely bang them .
Exactly who i was thinking should get the deal. Realistically Saudi/DAZN, with their budgets will produce bigger fight nights. TNT should focus on top domestic/Commonwealth and Euro matchups. Plus possible World Championahip fights at the lower weights as more affordable.
I just don't see how boxing will get fans now. Also, the Saudi stuff is purely sportswashing. So going out of their way to make it on a niche channel seems pretty dumb
Supposedly Saudis have invested £1bn in DAZN, for 10% of the company. If I was them i would make subscription max £19.99 a month and include PPVs in that. Then £19.99 for PPVs from non-subscribers. They are stating they will broadcast 150 fight nights per year. For those prices they would build a big world-wide subscriber base.
I know this whole schtick has been overdone, but what a turnaround for Frank and Queensberry. No doubt the UK's top promoter at the moment. Interesting article in the Times. Basic gist is that George now runs the company and Frank is gradually passing the torch over. Paragraph I thought was interesting: Many mentioned on here that BT gave Queensberry pretty paltry rights fees, which were shown in the cards they put on. Things definitely got better since the 2022 renewal and it's difficult to imagine they've moved foir anything less than a substantial raise. Logic would suggest that DAZN's strategy is to try and lock all major global boxing promoters up. It's well publicised that Top Rank are expiring with ESPN soon - if they end up there, they suddenly have the main players in the two largest boxing markets sewn up. Would Matchroom dare leave that for presumably smaller fees and less control over production etc? It would surprise me, but boxing is rarely predictable.
Matchroom are not leaving to go back to Sky simply because without Dazn the non UK business dies. Queensbury now want to expand and promote in the US hence going to Dazn, Its just not possible to promote in the US without a broadcast deal and Matchroom going to Sky would leave them with no US broadcast deal.
I knew there would be one person to make a stupid comment. Of course the UK is on the globe. However I've heard that the UK is not part of the global contract. I wanted to know if anyone could verify this.
Can't tell if everybody on DAZN is good for UK boxing or bad? Feels like it will just become even more niche here with less reach. Hopefully it's the beginning of something good.
It’s been reported everywhere, and if it didn’t include the UK, it would have been made very clear to avoid confusion.
