Vitali Klitschko in today's era, where would he be ranked?

It's amusing how so many posters can't seem to understand how all fights are different and how much styles can be a factor

To all the posters comparing Vitali and Usyks performance against Chisora as if it means something. It would be interesting for them to look at Hayes performance against Chisora and then question whether they thought Haye was better or if he would have beaten Vitali or Usyk? If they are comparing the two performances.

    Understand
All fights are different and styles are different

We will talk more December 21st
If he's as good as everyone makes out, he should make the adjustments and absolutely destroy Fury

We will see if he can do that. If he does? It might not be enough for me to put him with the All time greats at heavy, but I will admit I was wrong

If he struggles, or dare I say lose? Then he's for sure overrated on this forum and overrated as a heavyweight

I will stand by the above. I'm sure he or his fans don't need my approval, but me calling him overrated for some strange reason upsets people. I'm not sure why? It's my opinion only

Anyway, in a matter of weeks I will find out if I judged him harshly or fairly and if he destroys Fury? I will admit I underrated him. However, I will never call him goat, as he is too far from that

It's nice to have a back and forward without silly name calling, as it should be. Says a lot about you as a poster

Me calling fighters bums is a level of trolling. It is not nice or required, but I am quite animated at times

To be fair it's the one downside of the forum and unfortunately it will continue with many on here doing it daily

Anyway as you have been civil, I will honestly detract my earlier statement of calling Fury and chisora bums. However, I don't think their level right now is all that great and I do stand by that

    Have a good day

As awkward as he was to watch and at times boring, he'd beat pretty much everyone. A prime AJ might be a war, current Dubois would be fun but less active guys like Fury would play right into his hand. Usyk would be too small and Vitali could hit VERY hard.

At his best around 3rd behind Usyk and I think Fury would out-manoeuvre him in an ugly fight.
He'd beat down AJ with his chin and heavy hands, same with DD. I'd expect him beat Parker on points in a dull fight. Zhang might be interesting but Vitali had a better engine.

    Number 1

Usyk would lose wide to him.

Here's a thread posted shortly after Fury all but shut out Wlad, from a guy who hoped that Vitali would come out of his 3.5 year retirement as mayor of Kyiv on the cusp of 45 to fight Fury:

    https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/vitali-klitschko-vs-tyson-fury.559457/

Most of the luminaries in the thread were picking Vitali to do a Foreman-Moorer.

He's only one era removed (we can even compare mutual opponents, like how he did against Byrd compared to Wlad or to Kevin/Chisora compared to Fury) yet there's an irrational reflexive bias in his favour.

Top 3.. but before people start saying Vitali would wipe the likes of Fury, Bakole, Parker, Zhang, Usyk etc out i suggest you go back and watch some of his fights.. Johnson, Chisora etc.. Fury toyed with those guys.. Vitali didn't look good against either... i rate VK but much of his opposition was tailor made for him, they were just punching bags.. the times he did fight the faster more skilled fighters like Byrd, Sanders etc he looked more vulnerable..

When did Vitali fight someone his own size? Lewis… and he lost… he was ahead on the scorecards but Lennox was old and on the way out

I think he’d be 3rd behind Usyk and Fury.

Vitali was amazing but 90% of his opponents were tailor made for him, slow, plodding and small.

Usyk would outbox him down the stretch and Fury would do the same, probably keeping Vitali at a distance. Vitali was a master at judging distance but against the long arms of Fury he wouldn’t be able to step back away from his jab
