I nearly lost my mind when I heard that decision.

    Then they were poor commentators.

    It’s that simple.

Go and watch the fight yourself.

    It wasn’t even remotely close.

They weren’t South Korean judges. But they’d been bribed. All of them were suspended, and then 2 of them were banned for life.

    That’s a different topic.

But were they corrupt or incompetent?

Was the fight as one sided?

They must have been the only commentators in the world who informed their listeners that the Korean could get the result before it was announced. They were right about that so they couldn't have been too bad. Plus they flipped hard to Roy when it was announced. My recollection of what one of them said was "I'm not going to complain if this goes to the Korean". Then it went to the Korean & he went right off. Must have been sitting near the American commentators.

Same topic, mate. The corruption in amateur boxing is endemic. At the Paris Olympics, there was plenty of scoring according to which countries the fighters came from. I also think the draw in the Super Heavyweight division was manipulated to get the French fighter (the home country fighter) through to the medals. Watching the World Boxing Under 19 Championships the week before last they had a semi-final where one of the judges was from the same country as one of the participants. He promptly scored a close fight 3-0 in favour of his countryman - the only judge to do so. It ended up being a 4-1 decision so it didn't decide the contest but this is the body that's supposed to be taking over from the IBA. The IBA itself has been sidelined due to corruption. There's no difference between what happened to Roy & what's happened to many others. Roy at least benefited from being screwed in terms of the early promotion of his professional career. Many others haven't.

Yeah but Haney Loma, Ward Kovalev and Canelo GGG were all blatant corruption as well.
