I don't think there is a need to make excuses, here. With age comes injuries. All the same package, and if he does it again, there will be an "injury" next time.

 

Either, either. But Mike looked a decade older than he did against Jones.

 

The argument in the video, which I do agree with, is that Mike's body has still not recovered from the ulcer that almost killed him a few months back. That is why he looked more than a decade older from just the fight 4 years ago.

 

his problem is neurological. he has lost synapses in his nervous system, caused by age and more by punishment to the brain throughout his life. his body is communicating within itself at a much slower speed. that causes delayed reactions, loss of balance, and it makes him more vulnerable to future trauma.

 

Who cares no 60 year old male on the planet is beating a 27 year old prime male.

If Jake was a nasty piece of work he could have seriously hurt old man Mike but as I said this fight was really only about seeing where Jake's moral barometer lies and yes he's not a POS like he's made out to be.

Not sure what Mike got out of it....is $17m worth it? is he broke?

Injury & poor recovery is all part of the aging process - even with unlimited meds & juice
Their is a law of diminishing returns
The 27 years old Fake Jaul is also, juiced to the gills can’t compete with youth at that disparity of age is too great to overcome.

At least Jake Paul granted him mercy & carried him as opposed to becoming the ultimate most hated Clout chasing Troll

Who were the doctors who allowed him to fight? They should be charged with criminal negligence

 

Apparently the Texas fight commission plays it very fast and lose with medicals and drug testing.

 

most 60 yr old ex boxers would kill most prime aged average Joes, but Paul is a pretty ok club fighter, that's a long way above average Joe territory.

Jack Dempsey famously beat off two muggers at 75. The reason I do believe that story, is most street punks and criminals can't fight for **** and get spooked by any victim who actually has any ability to fight back. That's why they usually go after old ladies.

 

It never will. At his age, everything takes a piece out of you for good.

 

It’s particularly disturbing to see a fighter lose his once formidable resilience (naturally, due to age). Like Superman being stripped of a particular super power.

Mike was stumbling from some very unremarkable punches but my God, in his prime, Mike could take some hellacious punches without stumbling, let alone tipping.

Once the chin is gone, aside from other age related deteriorations, the age onset lack of chin also dictates how you fight. There is now an unfamiliar crystal to protect.

Whatever he did do, Mike was far more defensively minded against Paul - and although brief, his head movement at 58 yo did see him dodge a few punches but he simply wasn’t throwing a lot punches himself otherwise.

 

Age and injury didn't help. However, after the 2nd round, Tyson stopped charging at him and throwing. Yet, he had the energy to move his head and move around the ring. I believe he held back. Jake included. I refuse to believe for a minute that Tyson did not have enough in the tank to have pressured and thrown more than he did.
