Gomez wanted to carry on after the stoppage. He was a great fighter but also a dirty fighter.

Another one for me would be John vs Marquez, considering Chris had no title experience before and only fought in Indonesia.

Please tell me his name was Rocky. (Even if it wasn’t that Rocky, haha.)

    Or at least Adrian.

Danny Valdez was 14-5 and apparently being used as cannon fodder for top contender Ricardo Gonzalez who had a record of 94-5-7. But Valdez didn't read the script and beat Gonzalez and then had the temerity to stop him in 5 in the immediate rematch.

Nobody mentioned Saensak Muangsurin yet? Just saw his "boxing debut" on YouTube not too long ago where he obliterated world ranked Rudy Barro.

Muangsurin switched to boxing after an extensive career in kickboxing and did something that will probably never be bettered by winning a world title in his third pro fight. Sot Chitalada, another Thai, dropped a split decision to Jung Koo Chang for the WBC light-flyweight title in his fifth pro outing (and Chitalada did, in fact, win a world title three fights later) but Muangsurin's record is a bit special.
