Who comes to mind for you that best exemplifies this particular niche? What fighters possessed both shocking amounts of punching power and startlingly weak chins?

Courage Tshabalala is a great example. Punched like a mule, folded like a lawn chair. You rarely see a fighter make it anymore significant in the sport with so little dog or durability.

Ezra Sellers was a cruiserweight with the power to KO just about anyone... and be KO'ed by almost anyone in turn! 8 losses, all stoppages. His fights with Alex Stewart and Carl Thompson are up and down slugfests worth the watch.

Philly KO artist Eugene Hart could dish it out a lot better then he could take it. He was game but his durability and defensive abilities weren't on par with his freakish power. 8 of his 9 losses came by stoppage, and 28 out of his 30 wins were stoppages, many frightening one punch KO's.

One time heavyweight challenger Bill Squires is a classic glass cannon. 18 of his 21 wins were by KO and 10 of his 11 losses were via KO. His most infamous loss was his one round destruction by Tommy Burns in his title challenge.

Would you say Choynski was a bit brittle for a big puncher? 10 out of 14 losses were stoppages, including a few in the past few rounds.

Maybe not to to the extent Squires was but you could definitely include him. I’d given Choynski a bit of a pass for being an undersized heavyweight but two of his more brutal losses were to Walcott and Kid McCoy when he was the larger man.

    I stand corrected.

Funny how he got 3 shots at Burns despite being ironed out each time. To be fair to Squires he did last longer each fight but he didn’t really do much to warrant the second and third cracks at the title.

This is probably the best example of the thread topic IMO.

Ingemar Johansson would be another candidate IMO.
