Compared to the Ennis or Fundora fight, this somewhat of a downgrade. It is an interesting fight nonetheless, Zayas deserves credit for taking this fight. Although, I imagine Bob will be extremely pissed off that another prospect of his will fight on a Saudi card, probably without his permission, ala like Jared Anderson.

Too much too soon for Zayas I feel, though if the fight comes off respect to him for taking it so early in his career.

At this point in time it does seem like Vergil will literally fight anyone. Reportedly Vergil wanted Crawford and obviously Ennis and he signed up to fight Tszyu. Who knows whats going on w Fundora? Fundora upset win over Tszyu catapulted him and yet Tszyu lost in far more convincing fashion to Murtaz which has both made ppl forget about Fundora's win and also watered it down.

It does seem that Vergil is down to fight anyone and he's 26 yrs old which is great for us boxing fans. Even if you had Bohachuk beating Vergil (I did, by 1 round) I am still high on Vergil.

If Zayas has a decent chin he upsets. He's the most disciplined boxer at 154 and Ortiz didn't look good against McKinson

It's hard not to like the guy, he seems to be willing to fight anyone and he's not afraid to trade fists. He might not be the best, but he's good for the sport, in my opinion....

I think Vergil will blast him out. Can’t think of anything Zayas does better than Vergil and there is obviously a massive power disparity, that combination spells trouble

i imagined this fight happening at least a year further down the line. but im not complaining, its a good fight. i think ortiz body shot stops him, or hurts him enough to the body that he breaks him down by the late rds. i don't think zander can match the firepower.

Zander is still a bit Green but at least he's willing to step up in class for the fight. It seems to me that Ortiz has someone shaking in their Boots.

This doesn't really excite me. Zayas is a good fighter, nice kid, and he's the next highest ranked fighter in the rankings behind Spence, Bohachuk and Madrimov but I tend to tune out after a few rounds when I watch him fight. Ortiz is must see TV and it will probably be exciting but on paper it doesn't do so.

Spence being ranked #1 in a brand new division coming off a one-sided stoppage loss down at 147 is crazy

What about Crawford? Why not him vs Ortiz instead? Where you at, Bud? You heard me champ

Credit to Zayas if true but I think it's too soon for him, and its also a step down in opponent for Ortiz. I think he should be targeting a title fight right now, or atleast a top contender rather than a guy who's basically still prospect. But if there aren't any better available opponents then this fight is fine.

I doubt Zayas wins, but bigger upsets have happened. It's not like Vergil is some complete fighter, he has a lot of flaws.

Having said that, on paper you have to favor Ortiz by stoppage.
