New York 1965: Two-Ton Tony Galento, former heavyweight challenger and bon-vivant declared today that boxing needs 'two-man team matches' to boost it out of its slump.

"Boxin' ain't goin' nowhere as is" explained the rotund 240-pounder who once floored Joe Louis. "Boxin' ain't goin' nowhere till it catches up wid dis erie of specializations, like in football and baseball".

Tony, co-manager of the highbrow "Gaslight Supper Club" on 56th street suggested that Cassius Clay and Sonny Liston team up to fight slugger George Chuvalo and Floyd Patterson.

What about the return fight between Clay and Liston?

"They're two real bums. Both overrated. If I was fightin' today, I could lick both of 'em the same night. If White Gilzenberg was still managing me, I'd go in and fight both of 'em right now".

“Most of the people rejected his message….They hated Jesus because he told them the truth.”

Galento wouldn't have laid a glove on Ali, and Liston would have splattered him like a bug

Actually there is a fair chance Galento makes the bell against Liston, he’d have the best chin Sonny met and he ain’t Louis… I think Tony Galento could just maul on him the whole fight like he did Baer smothering all his shots… Liston wasn’t the best puncher inside he threw from the arms/shoulders and that effects your power in the booth immensely, Louis could chop guys up, up close because he punched with his hips. Do I think TG would win? Lol no but it’d be competitive here and there… he’d definitely have the power to hurt Sonny and he didn’t lack courage, anytime after Ali he’d probably take SL.

Sonny never makes it too the ring, he smells Galento from the locker room and makes a run for it
