Both are similar size 5'11 whilst Jackson only has a 1 inch reach advantage but he's slightly bigger in overall mass. Trinidad spent alot of his career at 147 but 154 was also a good weight for him.

It could go either way honestly when you have two big punchers who can be vulnerable at times anything can happen. But i think i'd give the edge to Jackson he's a harder puncher and Trinidad had a habit of getting knocked down early i'm not sure he could get away with that vs a lethal puncher like Jackson.

Jackson has a puncher's chance but I think Trinidad would have been able to survive the early onslaught from Jackson and turn the tide around to his favor. Trinidad was very tough and even when he gets dropped early on it only makes him stronger. I don't think Jackson would be able to take Trinidad's left well and I can see him getting stopped at some point late in the fight. Jackson was dangerous but wasn't as polished a technician as Trinidad and his defense was definitely open enough for him to be caught by Trinidad's best punches, especially the left hook. Great fight.

I have no idea who wins this one. But, I would pay a lot of money to see it happen. Two of my favorites from the 90s. I could totally see it going either way. You wouldn't dare leave for a beer during this battle.

Tito should be able to knock him out in the first few rounds.

Felix Trinidad was better all around.
But Trinidad was floored and seriously hurt by fighters that simply didn’t come close to the lethal firepower of J.Jackson.
I see this going the same was as J. Jackson's fight with another boxer that was better all around than he was.....
    Terry Norris.
And just like J Jackson's fight with Norris, Trinidad would be winning, until suddenly he wouldn't be.
J.Jackson stops F.Trinidad with in 3 -5 rds. After looking like he was totally outclassed.
The naturally bigger, stronger man, with possibly the most lethal punching power at any weight in the history of boxing would eventually reach Trinidad's somewhat suspect chin and ko him ..

On paper I’d favour Trinidad but he was up & down more than Madonna’s pants in those early rounds. Though a better fighter overall it’s a pretty good bet here Jackson clocks him. I marginally would favour such a result.

Being a front-running quitter Trinidad would of course never recover.

I'm leaning Jackson but Tito was no slouch and he could for sure get Jackson out of there. These are the type of fight that I don't like betting on because both could crack as hard as anyone and both had defensive deficiencies. It would be fun too watch.

You do know that your first paragraph - up and down etc - totally contradicts your second para, don't you?

Only if you think getting hit by Jackson is tantamount to getting hit by Vargas.

Big Trinidad fan boy here so take my post with a grain of salt i guess. As mentioned, I think Trinidad, although one dimensional in a lot of ways, is the superior technician with more tricks up his sleeve when compared to Jackson. That being said, Trinidad did get dropped by lesser fighters often and Jackson has the type of power I believe could put Trinidad down for the count. It's still hard for me to see a fighter walk Trinidad down and impose their will on him, but Jackson could knock guys out while retreating. I think Trinidad could win this on a good night, if he fought the way he did against Thiam and used his legs I think he could make the fight a lot easier on himself, but I'd be willing to bet the fight turns into a shootout and Jackson surprises him with a punch he can't get up from. I feel as though it would take Trinidad longer to wear Jackson down and knock him out, where Jackson only really needs one hard, we'll placed shot.
