Tommy Morrison vs Hasim Rahman primes

Rahman has that great, long jab to rely on. I think he takes it by stoppage most of the time.

Outside of that gimmick victory over Foreman, did Tommy ever beat an A level fighter?

 

Is Rahman A level now?

& what A level opponent did he beat, outside of that lucky shot against Lewis?

Anyway, I initially thought Rahman, but I’m going to go with Morrison, thinking about it. It’s a gamble, but Rahman was slow & clumsy even moreso, & lacked a level of rapid intensity to a lot of his fights Morrison, for all his flaws, had. I think he starts fast & ends it before Rahman finds his feet. It would be dangerous while it lasted, though. Rahman showed decent heart at times & could take a punch perhaps long enough to return fire & KO Morrison.

 

Imagine Morrison trying to survive the early rounds onslaught of Corrie Sanders. **** would be ugly.

 

Hasim actually grabbed all the belts, something Tommy couldn't even partly achieve. In addition to beating Lewis, he beat Corrie Sanders, Obed Sullivan, drew with Tua and Toney. That's far deeper than the bumfest Morrison feasted on.

He got in a lucky shot against a clowning opponent. Great achievement, catapulted him to fame, but it would be a mistake to attribute any kind of greatness to him on the strength of that. If Lewis had anything resembling good recuperative powers he’d have got up & killed Rahman. Morrison was a lot more explosive than Rahman out of the gate & I give him a slight edge to get it done early.

 

No one is saying Rahman was great. But there are many levels between Greatness and Morrison, and that's where he resided.

 

Fair enough, but I’m not rating Morrison above Rahman historically. Just thinking how the fight itself would pan out…

You are beyond a doubt the same stuck clock as Teddy "Nobody" Atlas with Tyson.....................Morrisons sucks sucks sucks, pathetic.

 

Imagine a Mike Tyson sparring partner survive the "early onslaught" of the Flash in the pan Sanders...........................who laid out Sanders in one fakking round cold..

Fact not fiction.

 

The difference being that Tyson was an ATG and Morrison a great could-have-been-but-never-was.
