I feel like the promo for such a big fight has been underwhelming. The timing is weird being so close to Christmas. Very curious to see if it looks like Fury has been training seriously.

As far as I’ve seen, nothing of real substance has been released by either camp. Keeping their cards close to their chests.

Sounds like Fury is fat as f*** and Usyk is injured.

I did think Fury was going to lose the Wilder 2 fight until he showed up at the weigh-in in great shape. I hope the same will happen this time.

Fury looks a little pudgy from what I have seen on youtube but nothing abnormal.

Could be a mistake. Usyk wrestles once a week and might get the better of him in clinches. Also, Usyk is capable of a much higher output if Fury is sluggish...

    Huck (over 10)- 758, 75.8 a round
    Glowacki (over 12)- 741 , 61.75 a round
    Mchunu (over 9)- 517, 57.4 a round,
    Hunter (over 12)- 905, 75.4 a round
    Breidis (over 12)- 848, 70.6 a round
    Gassiev- (over 12)- 939, 78.24 a round
    Bellew (over 8)- 424, 53 a round
    Witherspoon (over 7)- 347, 49.6 a round
    Chisora (over 12) - 614, 51.2 a round
    Joshua I (over 12)- 529, 44,1 a round
    Joshua II (over 12) - 712 punches, 59 a round
    Dubois (over 9) -359 punches, 40 a round
    Fury (over 12)- 407 punches, 34 a round

I agree. I don't think Fury should come in anything over 265 but i doubt he would be that high.

Those stats are super interesting. In the first Fury fight, Usyk went less for volume and more for cleaner harder shots. I still think he is capable of throwing 600 punches or so. I don't think he can throw 900 like he did vs Hunter since he is older and heavier. But 600? Yes. Very much possible.

Didn't Fury actually throw more punches than Usyk in their fight? I thought Usyk was just more accurate landing them.

he did. Fury threw lots of flicks and low power shots.

Usyk threw hard shots from both hands. I don't think i have ever seen Usyk sit down on his right hand as much. And the left was piston like.

IMO Usyk not only was more accurate, he threw more powerful shots. Fury only landed hard shots from rounds 3-6, maybe a bit in 7, and one big right hand in round 12.

Usyk landed hard shots from rounds 1-3, and from rounds 7-12. Only in the 4-6 round period did Usyk not manage to land hard shots. So it wasn't just the accuracy, it was that Usyk was genuinely trying in each round to sit down on his punches. Fury wasn't.

Yes, Usyk punches in the first fight were very well considered and highly selective. Either by election or necessity due to age or a combination of both, Olek moved that bit less in trade off for better leverage and anchor for power. It made him that bit more vulnerable to return fire, but he weighted his output in balance with greater power perfectly.

The only time that it bit him on the ass (just imo) was during rounds 4-6 when he took a bit of breather without moving very much - thus making him more hittable. If he is moving less, he has to keep punching with authority all the while. With less movement, his "defense" is necessarily comprised more by his attack, therefore he must maintain his offensives over the course of the fight.

He sure did which is my point. Fury's accuracy with the jab kept him in the fight. If he comes in fat and allows Usyk to go into turbo mode, its going to be a long night for him.

But Fury still threw more, which was what I was actually addressing.

I agree. He seems to be gaining muscle though, he looked a little too lean (for Fury) in the first fight.

It will be interesting if Usyk slows down with the extra weight he's carrying too
