I heard a really boring dreary guy on talksport today. Have lost touch with boxing the last decade. Only used to come on here fir classic forum

But it was ben shalom. He made boxing sound like a northern cricket league minor sport. Dreary

Lennox Lewis has always been tedious.Nothing ever of interest. He still locks away and deprived the world of the 83 catskill tapes.

Those tapes must be somewhere. That would great to watch that. Teenage Tyson was a savage.

If you go back to the last page there are three banned users with B1 at the end of their name (and various other banned users).

Adam Smith has to take the cake. Anthony Joshua. An interesting word has never dropped out of his mouth. Ade Oladipo is a bore. Spencer Fearon. Dave Coldwell. Peter Fury. Any of the Smith brothers. All of the women are extremely dull. Okolie. Solomon Dacres. Frank Smith. Ben Shalom. Joseph Parker (sorry, not British). I find the Sauerland brothers really uninteresting too. Jack Catterall is fairly boring but comes across a decent guy. Tony Sims could put a glass eye to sleep. Jeez, there are so many, you could go on and on.

The British scene as a whole is boring.

The Whyte-Chisora press conference was one of the last great things I've seen here. Because it was genuine. The table landing on Adam Smith and Adam taking it so well added to my respect for Mr Smith

Since Smith had his cancer scare, all is forgiven.

Smith was mercilessly ridiculed every week on here and seen as one of the worst commentators ever. Now he is on the Mt Rushmore of British commentators next to Reg Gutteridge.

Has to be Smith, in my opinion. You’re spot on with your observation.

I’ve been slated and called a casual (so overused) for saying Smith is biased and a yes man. People have literally told me he’s the best commentator ever.

Yeah agree. Costello was seen as a coup and an upgrade on Smith at the time but he's miles worse.

I like Smith. Goes off on weird tangents sometimes but he's good for the dramatic moments.

Smith has got the voice for it, but it’s everything else that’s awful. Costello is miles worse. He’s a good addition to this thread. I forgot he even existed.

Smith adds drama to a fight, so I'll give him that. His problem is that he would call everything for the Sky fighter and would miss anything good the opponent is doing. He also relied too much on bland clichés. He had the same several stock phrases he would regurgitate depending on what was happening in the ring.
