Usyk and Wallin shorter southpaws gave Fury trouble I know the styles are a little different but would Chris Byrd give Fury problems?
Byrd is highly underrated and it would be a great fight. I do think that Fury is a little to big for him, and barring a Vitali-like injury he would pull it out, but yeah, all he could handle.
He could but i think Fury wins. I don't think Byrd has the laser like left hand of Usyk. I can't see Byrd seriously hurting Fury. Fury close UD 12.
Byrd just doesn't have the power to bother Fury. He's also substanially smaller than Wallin and Usyk. He might make it interesting though
From a practical/reality standpoint, there is no way that Byrd is going to get a decision and unless Fury gets injured like Vitali did Byrd ain't stopping him either. I could see Byrd getting a very controversial loss and being the moral victor.
Byrd will give Fury trouble. Fury isn’t exactly an aggressive fighter, he’s more of a boxer. That’s a style that Byrd can deal with fairly well and at the highest level. I’ll pick him to lose by decision, but it won’t be an easy fight for Fury. It’s hilarious how even after all those years, Byrd is still hated on here. People seem to forget that Byrd beat Tua, Purrity, Vitali (I know he was losing one-sidedly), Holyfield, Oquendo, McCline, and Williamson.
I don't see how Byrd (who is no Usyk) would have a chance, Fury wouldn't quit even if he somehow injured himself. "Slick" Kevin Johnson also made Vitali look silly and marked him up but had virtually no success against Fury.
I feel like you are saying this to downplay Usyk's win over Fury. Reality of Byrd can't hurt Fury. Fury isn't going to be afraid of marching forward and landing shots on Byrd because he has nothing to fear. Byrd does not hit anywhere near as hard as Usyk. Nor is he as disciplined. Byrd isn't beating any version of Fury except the fat one who showed up against Nnganou. The guy who showed up vs Usyk was in the shape of his life. He threw almost 500 punches, something no out of shape guy could possibly do. Fury arguably trained harder than he ever had for the Usyk fight. Its just that Usyk has everything that Fury doesn't like - hard hitting southpaw left hand, defensive smarts, an excellent work rate, underrated power, slipperiness etc. Byrd can't crack an egg in comparison.
Byrd defeated Vitali Klitschko pretty easily so he should also be able to handle Tyson Fury, he might have to settle for a decision victory however since Fury is a bit better than Vitali was. To think that Vitali first quit against Byrd and then he quit vs Lewis and then he retired and ducked Fury. Disgraceful.
