Sugar Ray Robinson actually loved boxing before he killed Jimmy Doyle, then that feeling is a bit grey,he doesn't really love it nor he truly hates it.

Ali deliberately lost to Leon Spinks so he wouldn't have to fight Norton a 4th time.

    Here are a few:

The top fighters in an era and sometimes across eras are a lot closer in abilities than fanboys want them to be.

Fighters that dominate eras often get criticized for fighting weak opposition and don't get full credit for their achievements.

Different judges in key fights would have people's top ten lists looking radically different.

People forget circumstances surrounding fights and what remains is the footage and the verdict. Deck-stackers win in the long run.

Boxing is much tougher than football.

    That's a good one!

The thought had never even occured to me.

    Very possible..........

That’s an interesting wrinkle on my post. Could both be true?

Julio Cesar Vazquez got jobbed against Whitaker so that Pea could bag another belt. They picked the wrong Patsy for that achievement and had to tilt the scales.

Fighters with a “best night” generally are the same as any other fight in their prime, but had something favorable going on in terms of styles (Leonard fought stupidly in Montreal) or the condition of the opponent (Tyson was unfocused and poorly conditioned in Tokyo).

Fighters who keep their zero going at world level for an extended period are way underrated compared to fighters who beat a hall of famer or two.

This is a gray area. Beating legends of division 1 in division 2 helps a division 1 legacy but at the same time they weren't fights in division 1? I feel more comftorable doing this with HW because everything at 168, 175 and CW used to be HW.

In this situation the wins over HW Bivins are washing away the loss to LHW Bivins and then being presented as part of a LHW resume. And Maxims not someone who really benefitted from outweighing Charles 20 pounds.

Bad decisions that aren't necessarily considered robberies, but ultimately robbed us all:

Leonard Hagler (giving Hagler the admittedly-edged victory probably would have meant a real rematch)

Holmes Spinks 2 (this was closer to a robbery, with Holmes hurting Spinks several times against Spinks not even once. Would have been interesting to see if a rematch, retirement, anything would have happened.)

Foreman Briggs (outright robbery, anyone can see Foreman jabbed him silly. Briggs looked terrible. Would have been nice to see Brigg's kinda-meh career perhaps finish early, and Foreman deserved that last win, big time)

I can tell you with absolute certainty that had Holmes received the call in either Spinks fight, they would never meet again.
