Do you think Munguia would have been able to continue if the ref let the fight go on after the KD?

He shouldn't be fighting 4 times a year at this stage. Maybe took this guy a little light. Do a quick rematch then fight some better competition 6 months down the road. At this point no reason to caudal him. If he's ranked a a number 1 contender he needs to fight like it.

Here’s an example of a fighter with very few KOs nearly decapitating a fighter. Dicky Eklund only had 3 KOs when he brutally stopped Allen Clarke.

With Munguia’s porous defense and looking badly hurt I think the ref did him a favor by saving him by a potentially life threatening injury.

Likely no, and it would had been waved off nonetheless since Surace would surely capitalize. It was a perfect shot, which freely twisted Munguia's head via that axis, with nothing much else to help absorb and lessen the impact, compared to Bruno's own earlier. Congrats btw to the winner, he threw a very fast/explosive 1-2 after seeing an opening back there.

    Maybe, crazier things have happened.
But he looked very hurt there. Plus Suarce was landing that right hand almost at will. It was a good stoppage.

When I was a younger man I would have said. It doesn't matter. Let him continue whether he can, or not. As an older man, I say do not let him continue whether he can or not. Health of the athlete over the outcome of the contest

He might have survived the round, but it was only a matter of time before Munguia got caught again. Surace was catching him with heavy shots prior and Munguia wasn't trying to avoid getting punched in the face.

Nah Munguia was badly hurt, but you would think that in his hometown with 22 seconds to finish out the round that he would have been given a chance to survive the round. Me personally, I have no issue with the stoppage.

By continue if if the OP is asking could he have walked forward and taken more punches - then yes.
Would the outcome of the result change no.
