I mean, maybe not, if we're to believe the King/Steele connection but I don't really put alot of credence on that.. I think it would be even bigger issue if Taylor had signaled that he could still go. He didn't and that gave Steele an out.

Ayub Kalule vs Sumbu Kalambay(EBU Middleweight Title Match)
    1: draw 10-10
    2: Ayub 20-19
    3: Ayub 30-28
    4: Ayub 40-37
    5: Sumbu 49-47
    6: Ayub 59-56
    7: Sumbu 68-66
    8: draw 78-76
    9: Ayub 88-85
    10: Ayub 98-95
    11: Sumbu 106-105
    12: Ayub 116-114
Very good technical fight, while Ayub was past his best here,he put up one last good performance to make Uganda proud, this fight did took out everything he had left, but it also made up most of his best achievements in his career, first time watching Sumbu here and I also loved his style, sort of like Lionel Rose if he's more defensive.

Y'know, Kalambay had such a strong fast jab, but he primarily used that rather than engage. In fact, I think this was what cost him the fight. When Kalule would attack there was never really any firepower coming back at him. Kalambay only tended to sharp-shoot when he was ring center and could employ the jab and then fire off a combo once he assumed control. Anyways, here is my card.

Ayub Kalule v Sumbu Kalambay (European middleweight title)

    Round 1: 10-10 Even
    Round 2: 10-9 Kalule
    Round 3: 10-9 Kalambay
    Round 4: 10-9 Kalule
    Round 5: 10-8 Kalambay (scores a knockdown)
    Round 6: 10-9 Kalule
    Round 7: 10-9 Kalambay
    Round 8: 10-9 Kalule
    Round 9: 10-9 Kalambay
    Round 10: 10-9 Kalule
    Round 11: 10-8 Kalambay (scores a knockdown)
    Round 12: 10-8 Kalule (scores a knockdown)

Total: 113-113 Draw (actual scores: 114-113 Kalambay and a 118-115 and 117-114 both for Kalule, who takes a split decision)

John Tate v Kallie Knoetzee (semi-final of WBA tournament)

    Round 1: 10-9 Knoetzee
    Round 2: 10-9 Tate
    Round 3: 10-9 Knoetzee
    Round 4: 10-9 Tate
    Round 5: 10-9 Tate
    Round 6: 10-9 Tate
    Round 7: 10-9 Tate
    Round 8: Tate stops Knoetzee

Total through 7 completed rounds: 68-65 Tate (scores not known)

It was amazing Knoetzee got as far as he did with solely a big punch. He possessed absolutely no boxing fundamentals. He couldn't jab, couldn't box, he was awkward, no defense and no stamina and the only thing in his toolbox was to throw haymakers. Tate fought such a beautiful fight and kept a wonderful pace boxing when he needed to and countering and banging when the moment arised. I truly believe he could have been something if not for that one left hook thrown in the 15th round of the Weaver fight. The wheels came off the chasis in that one.

I replaced the lost rounds with some of the judge's scorecards,and... Pone won this by 3 rounds, Pone was more experienced and skilled, and made the good late adjustments.

Guty Espadas v Willie 'Birdlegs' Jensen

    Round 1: 10-9 Jensen (scores a knockdown)
    Round 2: 10-9 Espadas
    Round 3: 10-10 Even
    Round 4: 10-9 Jensen
    Round 5: 10-9 Espadas
    Round 6: 10-9 Espadas
    Round 7: 10-9 Jensen
    Round 8: 10-9 Espadas
    Round 9: 10-9 Espadas
    Round 10: 10-10 Even

Total: 97-95 Espadas (actual scores: 95-93 Espadas, 95-94 Jensen and a 94-94 for a Draw)

To tell you the truth, I have no issue with this decision. Jensen kept sizzling combos in Espadas face all night while Espadas worked the body and cracked Jensen enough upstairs to let him know he was there. I only scored the 1st round 10-9 because when Jensen dropped Espadas, it was about the only thing he did that round. Thanks to @Flo_Raiden for putting this on the old radar.

Same score, slightly different route. Gave Fury the first and third, along with the fifth and ninth. But both the first and third could easily have been scored 10-10, imo. Kinda think the AI card of 118-112 best reflected the way the fight went, tbh.

    Oleksandr Usyk vs Mairis Briedis

    1 Briedis
    2 Even
    3 Usyk
    4 Briedis
    5 Usyk
    6 Briedis
    7 Usyk
    8 Usyk
    9 Briedis
    10 Usyk
    11 Usyk
    12 Briedis

    115-114 Usyk

I just rewatched this fight again and i think the Briedis fight was the only real true real close fight Usyk has had in his career. The Fury fights were competitive but Usyk clearly won those fights, the Briedis fight on the other hand went down to the wire IMO.

Briedis had many good rounds in this fight landed solid clean punches and even finished stronger than Usyk in the 12th round hurting him. Usyk just about done enough by being the aggressor in the 2nd half of the fight and outworking Briedis but i could maybe see an argument for a draw for Briedis.

FT, I checked this out today and let me tell you, you gave us a hard one, amigo. Man, every round was so damn close.

Yoshiaki Numata v Lionel Rose (Jr. lightweight title) (5 point must in effect)

    Round 1: 5-4 Numata
    Round 2: 5-4 Numata
    Round 3: 5-5 Even
    Round 4: 5-4 Rose
    Round 5: 5-4 Rose
    Round 6: 5-5 Even
    Round 7: 5-4 Rose
    Round 8: 5-4 Numata
    Round 9: 5-5 Even
    Round 10: 5-4 Numata
    Round 11: 5-4 Numata
    Round 12: 5-4 Rose
    Round 13: 5-4 Numata
    Round 14: 5-4 Rose
    Round 15: 5-4 Rose

Total: 69-69 Draw (actual scores: 73-71, 74-72 and 75-73 for Numata by the 3 Japanese judges)

I gotta tell ya, I started watching this last night and saw the first 3 rounds before I knew I was so damned tired that I could not give this fight it's proper justice. So, I finished it today but went back to watch the first 3 rounds and scored one of them differently. I think if I kept going I would have had a few more in the remaining 12 rounds scored differently. It was that kind of a close fight. Rose was the master counter-puncher and Numata was the banger and it was so tight i really believe a draw was the best decision.

Hehe,I just had to do my job of bringing an underrated fight to surface,I see nobody paid attention to Numata too.

A very close fight where both boxer punchers try to impose their own game in different ways, Saoul tried to jab and flurry Buddy with his left hooks, but Buddy managed to land good combinations and counters in the inside too, good back and forth technical fight, and Saoul's adaptability is scary too,he struggled in the first two,but quickly adapted.

I always rooted for Sweet Saoul. He was, as you noted, so adaptable and also just a competitor. Even if he was losing every round he was trying to find a way to turn it.

Glad he got to taste a world title in his career. There was nobody he wouldn’t fight.

Yeah,he always came to fight tot he ring, even after he became 61 he still dared to make a comeback despite failing.
If his management wasn't so crappy I believe he could pull up better upsets too, this Buddy fight could've been another good upset if you give the 7th round to Saoul.

    Billy Costello UD12 Saoul Mamby
    1:?
    2:?
    3: draw 30-30
    4: Mamby 40-39
    5: Mamby 50-48
    6: Costello 59-58
    7: Costello 68-68
    8: draw 77-77
    9: Costello 86-87
    10: Costello 95-97
    11: Mamby 105-106
    12: Mamby 115-115
There's 2 missing rounds so it's hard to score, Leonard did says the first 4 rounds were good ones for Mamby though,I'll accept it.
Round 12 is a bit of a stretch since I was rooting for Mamby, but I still could've just deduct a point from Costello because of all that holding.
Mamby is 37 here, I wonder what happens if he took the same road like Duràn and Jofre before facing Costello...
