While I don't think it's unreasonable to fnd 5 rounds for Fury, I don't think one could make a particularly persuasive case for 6 much less 7 (which would have been required to get the decision).
Are you cashing the check today that Bricktop Warren to you? I don't score rounds. My overall impression was a clear Usyk victory. He blocked or avoided most of Fury's punches which is subtle but should be considered when evaluating a fight. Meanwhile Usyk touched up Fury's face constantly and landed numerous body shots that clearly hurt Fury.
He was going for a knockout and thought the extra weight would help him. I thought Fury looked faster in the first fight. He faded in the second half of this fight. Maybe it was the extra pounds or maybe it was all those body shots. Probably a combination. Fury did not look bad. He looked pretty sharp. I think he would have beaten any current HW not named Usyk. He's not a bum. He's a talented boxer for such a big man.
116-112 for Usyk could potentially see it 115-113 There were a few rounds where if Fury attacked more he could have won but Usyk closed strong
Threw the first 6 rounds I said this fight has draw written all over it. But Usyk pulled ahead in the second half of the fight again. 8-4 or maybe 7-5 Usyk
I would never call a champion a bum. But when the former champ steps in to throw with the guy who just beat him, one would expect for that fighter to show up in better shape than he was when he lost his title. Fury simply looked fat Just sayin'.
He wanted to come in heavier to push Usyk around and did that somewhat. Ideally probably shouldve been around 275.
Yeah. What I had it on the night. Closer and more competitive fight than the first. Several different momentum shifts.
