Seen people trashing on the UK on twitter cause Usyk beat Fury. Just like to remind everyone we still have a British Heavyweight champion as we have done for the last 10 years.

I look positively into the new year and believe in a good 2025 for British boxing !

Hope Matchroom joins the fray and up their game in the U.K. The events Matchroom has presented this year have been far below their usual standard.

Would have agreed with you before he fought Usyk but since that fight, it can be argued that he is also seriously underrated on here as well.

The Miller fight was a real gut checker for 12 rounds and a very good win, the Hrgovic fight was a great win and he walked through and totally destroyed AJ.

Dubois has overcome adversity and we should be proud of our World Champion.

The wider picture going forward is looking bleak at this point but no doubt new British Challengers will emerge.

Hrgovic is overrated, no good wins. Zero. Lost to Zhang.

Jarrel Miller went 6 rounds with an ancient Lucas Browne, embarrassing at this level. Apart from that he has fought nobody. Hardly a "gut checker".

The problem with boxing opinions is that overrated claims are made on twitter/forums against nearly all boxers following defeats.

Miller always brings fight to the ring for every second of every round and more than capable of knocking out/breaking the heart of fighters. That win was the best of the Dubois career at that point and a real confidence booster coming through such a hard fight.

The boost in confidence clearly seen in his next 2 fights against Hrgovic and Joshua who provided much less danger, pressure and resistance in the ring than Miller.

I'm just a casual, but I thought Itauma looked good in his last fight.

I know it wasn't WBA, WBO, WBC or IBF.

But it was against a guy who was taller, 22-1 and who'd went ten rounds with a pretty well though of fighter.

    What am I missing here?

That Demsey McKean has a very padded record, doesn't hit overly hard for a world rated HW, and struggled in some of those victories against very low level journeymen.

The Zhang fight was no robbery. I had him win by 114-113, but I understand if people also had it for Zhang, but it was certainly no robbery.

    Exactly

It's was razor close and Zhang only has himself to blame for allowing it to get to that stage

Whilst Miller has never been much of a finisher Hence going 6 with Brown, stopping him is a completely different conversation

He is as tough as they come but Dubois hurt him badly

That was the most impressive thing in that fight

I think the British heavyweight division is still in an amazing place. Lots of depth, lots of talent, lots of potential matchups and a current world champ

Now, is the British boxing propaganda machine dead? Hopefully. All of the guff that started with AJ that Fury inherited went on to inherit was pathetic. The pro-Fury propaganda leading up to Usyk-Fury2 was 1984 level. You just know Frank and Spencer Brown were putting in overtime whipping everyone into shape behind the scenes

He is as British as Dillian Whyte or Dereck Chisora. Once again your intellect is shining through.
