Has Usyk had a greater impact on the sport than the Klitschko brothers?

    Yes.

Usyk has proven a smaller heavy with excellent technical skills can compete with much larger men in their backyards.

Wlad proved a much larger man can blatantly cheat vs much smaller opponents with pushing and clinching with impunity.

Wlad damaged the popularity of heavyweight boxing outside of Germany.

Usyk has helped increase boxings credibility, at least among serious boxing fans.

Wlad was a dirty cheat who stacked the deck massively in his favour

Usyk was always the smaller man and the B side

There's the discussion of impact on what boxing history means to people studying fighter greatness and quality and then there's just the moment to the public. Worlds apart. It's like rating Holmes over Tyson when he was nowhere near as popular but arguably had the greater quality and achievements. Usyk may be a greater fighter than both, may go down as greater than both put together, but cruiserweight is still cruiserweight and the impacts from cruiserweight are but a blip compared to time done at heavyweight. Vitali had a greater impact getting his face excitingly ripped apart in a loss to Lennox than all of Usyk's CW career impact on the sport, even though this is unfair to the point of hysteria. It means nothing to the quality of the achievement, but it means everything to the energy behind it from fans and media, in the moment.

Stellar amateur record, Olympic gold, Undisputed Cruiser, Undisputed Heavy, defences of each, undefeated. Always B side, never on home turf advantage. Massive impact on the sport itself, and won everything you can win, but casuals will talk about how he wasn't heavy fast enough and so ultimately it won't matter as much as the Klitschkos to most people

K bros were bigger, they were really selling out stadiums in germany . And did well over here. Usyk is more skilled but he's a niche fighter with a small following.

Mainly Wlad, Vitali wasnt boring to me. But I like to point without their reign the era would hsve sucked worse. It was full of overweight bad boxers. They fought everyone and still have weak heavyweights due to the opposition sucking.
Wlads best wins in his reign are the likes of david Haye and Povetkin.

What impact on the sport has usyk had, what does that term even mean to you? Is he any more popular than them? No. Has he broken through anymore in the states, no? Has he revolutionized anything about the sport? He is even less popular than the brothers. So the answer is no.

Just because you think his acheivements are more impressive, does not mean he has had a greater impact on boxing. Two totally separate things.

The Klitschkos gained more fame and sold out stadiums in Germany but Usyk is a far superior fighter. Usyk has had a more positive internal impact on the sport where as the Klitschkos probably bought more attention to the sport, I guess.

    No.

The Klitschko's were the names in the HW division for years and the Klitschko name carried weight with people everywhere.

Usyk wasn't really known outside of true boxing followers until he got the AJ fight really.

    Dont think I can agree

Their card stacking antics and the fact they were already a level above the others in that era lead to a boring division

If they wasn't around at least it would have been crap yet competitive

That wasn't the question of this thread.
