Fury has always had issues with quick southpaws. While I do think the Wilder fights took something out of both of them, Usyk was always going to be a competitive fight.

Everyone excepts mike tyson was more over the hill than Lewis when they fought despite being 2 years younger because it's common sense.

Fury's chin has gone, he's made enough money time to retire.

I think its actually Fury who is super lucky to get to fight a 37/38 year old Usyk.

I was not aware Usyk had a long history of substance abuse and fighting 30lbs overweight like Fury. Usyk looks like the type of guy who takes care of himself and comes into the ring in supreme physical shape. It sounds like you are in denial to suggest otherwise. I do not class this as an excuse for Fury though, its all his fault and he lost fair and square.

You wouldn’t be aware of quite a few things re Usyk since he doesn’t advertise his personal life nor all his struggles as much as Fury does.

Same goes for all of Fury other opponents which you likely don’t afford the same treatment as you afford Tyson.

Like his namesake, Fury should be purely judged on his material results rather than endless woulda shoulda couldas and pointless concessions (aka excuses) after the fact - therein lies your denial.

There’s nothing I need to be in denial of in respect of Usyk.…quite obviously.

The entirely predictable excuses, insecurity and saltiness is both comical and delicious in equal measure

The MMA GOAT and current UFC HW champ/former long reigning LHW champ Jon Jones who is the most dominant MMA fighter in history, especially given the calibre of his opposition, and has only officially lost one fight in his entire career and that was on a DQ, is a notorious alcoholic coke fiend who has been beating the elite fighters ion his weight class whilst partying and livin' la vida loca during fight week

Two weight champ kickboxing legend and now two weight UFC champ MMA legend Alex Pereira who again is one of the most dominant and greatest champions ever and one of the greatest KO artists ever in both sports is a former alcoholic who used to drink almost a litre of alcohol every day for five years straight

Two of the greatest ever and two of the most dominant ever whose dominant reigns came against the best fighters in the world, clean fighters, as in ones who are not alcoholics, coke fiends or long time former alcoholics

Jones and Pereira are current top 3 P4P as we speak in most rankings despite this and being older than Belly

Weird how Belly is still fast, still has great skills, still has a great engine, looked the best he has in a very long time, and going into the first and second fights against Usyk, both of which tons of fans and fighters were picking him to win, including an awful lot of these revisionist cry babies who are now trying to discredit Usyk for obvious reasons, was the reigning WBC HW champ, ranked #2 in the world, and he was 5-0-0 (4 KOs) in his previous 5 fights going into Usyk I

Yes, I know he had that crappy performance against Ngannou who he clearly didn't take seriously. But we also know that's been a theme with Belly and that he's erratic and fights down to the level of his opposition at times

He looked like crap against Wallin in his previous fight to Baptism II which is widely regarded as one of his top 2 ever performances

Belly was so damaged he did a much better job on Chisora than the supposedly rejuvenated J-Park did who was dropped by Chisora and clearly lost the first fight to him and in his last fight Chisora just beat the man, including dropping him too, who KO'd J-Park

Did better against Usyk x 2 than AJ and Dubois did

''Damaged goods'' Belly's engine was still so great he fought very hard in round 12 of both fights against Usyk, which many scored for him, despite the fact Usyk has an insane engine and is one of the most mentally draining fighters to face you will come across. Belly still looked relatively fresh and wasn't exhausted after the final bell in either of those fights

'Bellew had noted following the Usyk fight how taxing the experience had been. He was not just physically drained. He was also mentally spent, having had to concentrate for every second of every round in his efforts to stay with Usyk.

“He’s the one who exhausts you to the brink when you can barely breathe. And when I look back at it now, it’s purely his judgment of distance and his feet remain so close to you. It sounds like such a little thing: His front foot is never more than four to five inches away from you, but you think he’s in range and he’s actually not. He’s in and out and in and out, but you feel like he’s constantly there and it’s so mentally taxing, it’s unbelievable. That doesn’t sound like a lot, but it is when someone’s doing it and controlling it.”

“One hundred percent,” he said, reflecting on that mental fatigue. “The thing that will send Fury off and he won’t understand is the judgment of distance that Oleksandr Usyk has. This is what got me. I was absolutely exhausted after seven rounds. I have never been that tired in my whole entire life. Me and AJ [Anthony Joshua] were talking about it recently, and he also said he’s never been as tired as he was after those fights in his life. And it’s like Usyk wasn’t even blowing. And that’s how you are. He’s made you tired.''

As for Belly's punch resistance being ''damaged goods''

Er,. he was dropped heavily by the 43lb lighter KO 43% Cunningham in his '''prime'' whose KO% up at HW is way way lower than that. You think Cunningham hits harder than Usyk? Not at CW or HW did he

Belly was dropped by KO 29% featherfist Pajkic in his ''prime''

And badly hurt and very nearly dropped by light hitting KO 38% Firtha in his ''prime''

So what the hell are you talking about?

Amazing how this damaged goods cracked chin due to the three wars against The Dosser of which were only genuinely competitive in like 3-4 rounds in total because Belly won damn near if not every round in them he wasn't dropped, was able to eat 10 unanswered flush power shots from Usyk whilst being out on his feet and in dire trouble

Here's a 213lb Usyk dropping and stopping a tough 279lb giant in the WSB. Usyk has always been able to punch and hurt giants

Yes, two of Belly's fights against The Dosser were brutal wars - for The Dosser because he's the one who took a sustained shellacking for the ages from start to finish in both of them, not Belly. You think Belly took more punishment in his fights vs The Dosser than Usyk did in 350 amateur fights? :risas3:

Usyk is about to turn 38 in a couple of weeks and he's fighting literal giants who hold massive/obscene physical advantages over him and he is the one who had everything stacked against him in all these fights against Belly and AJ and who the boxing establishment wanted to lose in all of them so STFU with the excuses

Are you recommending Fury's approach (the fat slob approach, lots of flab, lots of beer, bits of cocaine) ??

I'm fairly sure that's not good for a boxer. especially as they reach their mid-30s.

Did you actually read my post

And you've been a member since Tuesday who ever so conveniently has just appeared AFTER the fight to try and discredit Usyk so are you recommending I take you seriously?

I'm not discrediting Usyk. He is a brilliant boxer. But the idea that Fury's undisciplined lifestyle has done him harm is legitimate.

Part of what makes Usyk so great is his professionalism, him always being in shape, not getting in the ring with a load of flab around his waist.

I don’t think anyone is recommending an apparently less than healthy lifestyle - that’s a strange twist on what has been expressed.

Rather, notwithstanding the purported life style, look to the material complexions and outcomes when judging a fighters current status.

Carlos Monzon also drank, smoked and partied hard between fights but still fought at the highest level for years and years.

We say some fighters are outliers in certain regards - speed, natural athletic ability, sheer physical size, etc.

I think that can also apply to some fighters who don’t necessarily treat their bodies like temples.

Not for everyone but some can get away with it much better than others - and the potential of their performances aren’t necessarily shortfallen as much as some people might assume.

Meaning, they might not be that much better if totally clean, and if some did opt for totally clean, their whole game might’ve fallen apart altogether without them indulging in their between fights “crutches”.

Simply take Fury as a job lot, pros and cons included.

I never said it hadn't done him harm but the human body is incredibly resilient and, as said, two the greatest ever and most dominant ever MMA fighters (and kickboxer for Pereira) are currently ranked in the P4P top 3 in the UFC despite being notorious coke fiend alcoholics or former alcoholics for five years drinking an obscene amount every day and their dominance and reigns have come against the best fighters in their weight classes who are clean not alcoholic drug fiends

And 350 amateur fights and facing as many punchers as Usyk has and training as crazy hard as he has puts plenty of miles on the clock too. Usyk is not near his prime

Yes, good call. ATG and arguably the MW GOAT Monzon is another

Some people are just freaks who have been blessed with an abundance of natural talent and genetic gifts
