Beterbiev asked Hearn to organize that fight after Usyk became undipsuted at CW and he would sign for him, that's the only time Hearn was silent ...
I've seen him hit quite a bit. bivol could have made it clear how often he can be hit, if he wasnt so passive and risk averse. you just got to be able to handle what biev throws back at you. like a quick and very skilled hw would be able to do.
Then they should fight at Bridger, not Cruiser. Maybe one org or two could appropriate a title, which would then add to their accomplishments, both of them, instead of one only. It would be more difficult or maybe even detrimental to go down a weight class after fighting for so long at a particular one, eg. Roy Jones Jr. Even Pacquiao stayed at Welter even though he was small for the division. Usyk is the HW champion of the world after all.
Bivol was passive and risk averse because Beterbiev would have stopped Bivol if Bivol opened up. Beterbiev has a lot of skill on the inside and he would finish Bivol if Bivol fought more aggressively.
Usyk shouldn't have to cut 25 pounds, he's the heavyweight champion. Beterbiev should just jump to heavy like the long held tradition going back over a century.
I'm not writing beterbiev off, people have moved up and suprise the sport all the time, I dont think he'd be featherfisted at heavyweight and he has the perfect style to trouble Usyk. But Usyk has the be the favorite and he would probably knock Beterbiev out
Except Beterbiev doesn’t have the style to trouble Usyk. Bivol was soundly outboxing him for a good chunk of the fight. Imagine someone like Usyk who not only boxes non stop, but also hits much harder.
Usyks best work is when he's pressing the action... would he have an easier time dictating the pace against Beterbiev compared to aj and fury ? I'm not sure I'd compare him to Bivol. Usyk is obviously the favorite
So yeah. Many people would be intrigued by this one. Usyk would be a significant favorite, but it's a more compelling fight than certain folks who have been hilariously inaccurate in calling Beterbievs career would have you think.
