uh, which golota? the one who took the fight to bowe and was winning? or the golota who was ahead in those fights who became a mental case and gave bowe a vasectomy via low blows? if the first, golota by knock out. the second, golota loses by quitting or losing by disqualification.
I've got Oleg. Yes, he was chinney but he was the better fighter imo. I really don't care all that much about the Golota vs Bowe fights. Bowe was clearly shot as a fighter and Golota still found a way to lose. Maskaev has a sledgehammer right hand and I think once Golota feels that power, he folds like he always did. Golota was one of the most overrated heavyweights that I can remember.
The referees, should disqualify fighters that can't continue and are given the win on fouls. They lay down and become winners. It use to be you can't win on a foul. Duran became champion, when he should of been disqualified.
Nicholson. I think he was on Maskaev's level. Take Rahman's wins out of Oleg's resume and his resume isn't any better than Nicholson's one. Actually even with Rahman wins, the best opponent Nicholson has beaten (Ruiz) beat the best opponent Maskaev has beaten (Rahman). Plus Nicholson never lost to T-Rex Sanders or Nagy Auilera level opponents
Golota was better boxer, more skilled, much quicker, and as questionable as his chin was, it was still million times better than Oleg's grade A china chin. However, Golota still might have found the way to lose to Maskaev somehow, because he was a mental midget while Oleg was really tough fighter
No way Nicholson was better Than Maskaev, Golota had problems against Pouah, he should have been disqualificated.Golota doesnt win complicated fights.
I think Golota stops him before he implodes Maskaev was very chinny and I don't think he could take a sustained beating from Golota to make his suspect temperament come into play.
